Important Information

Ingredients
Our overnight diapers are made of chlorine free wood pulp fluff, a mixture of corn and wheat derived polysaccharide and sodium polyacrylate (also referred to as SAP or absorbent gel), polyolefin nonwoven fabric, adhesives, polyolefin film, synthetic rubber elastic strandsThe color of disposable diapers is typically achieved through the addition of color pigments to their inner and outer cover materials. This is also true for Seventh Generation diapers. While most designs on the market use pigments that result in a white color, we use a small amount of blended color pigments to impart a tan color to our diapers. The blend is proprietary to the supplier of the pigment. To the best of our knowledge, there are no known toxicity issues associated with the use of these pigments in our diapers. Without the addition of color pigments, these materials would be colorless, much like a plastic milk jug. We use brown pigments to help distinguish Seventh Generation Overnight Diapers from others in the marketplace that are bleached with chlorine-containing substances. All disposable diapers, including Seventh Generation’s, rely on man-made materials to deliver the high-level performance that parents expect of modern diapers. These materials are mostly petroleum-derived and are not renewable, which adversely impacts the environmental footprint associated with these products. At Seventh Generation, we are pleased to offer an alternative that is not bleached with chemicals containing chlorine and contains corn-and wheat-derived materials to reduce the use of non-renewable petrochemicals. We are constantly working hard to further improve the sustainability of our diaper products.About ChlorineThe wood pulp used in our diapers has not been processed with chemicals containing chlorine. This prevents dangerous chlorinated toxins from being released into the environment through the pulp production process.

These diapers are very absorbent, and comfortable.

If you used regular seventh generation diapers and found them to be lacking in their absorption like i did, try the overnights!

Our son is almost 18 months and we still had to change him 1 - 2 times per night because he woke up wet.

I thought I was done buying diapers 40 years ago when my children outgrew them but then I became a grandfather and then my nieces and nephews begin having babies and I find myself back in the market.

One of the diaper makers that caught my attention is Seventh Generation whose hypoallergenic products are free of latex, fragrances, petroleum-based lotions or chlorine processing. The diapers are made of chlorine free wood pulp fluff, a sodium polyacrylate absorbent gel, polyolefin nonwoven fabric and synthetic rubber elastic strands. The wood pulp used has not been processed with chemicals containing chlorine which prevents dangerous chlorinated toxins form being released into the environment.

These overnight diapers are the most absorbent diaper Seventh Generation makes, designed for when diaper changes are father apart - like overnight or for travelling on a long trip. These diapers are not white like others, because they aren't bleached. Also, because they are made of wood pulp they are not as soft to the touch as others are but they are comfortable for babies. This is a good product for families with allergy problems related to scents and to families who care about the environment. I'm impressed.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!! The original diaper is the only diaper that kept our heavy wetting son dry for 12 hours of night time sleep since he was 3 months!! But now he is 13 months and I was having to wake him up several hours into night time sleep lately to put a new diaper on to make it till morning since he has gotten older and drinks lots of water (he wakes up if he is wet). I can say that we used the new overnight diapers last night and they are great!! I have been wishing for these for awhile now and we were surprised to see them on amazon now. They feel 4x thicker than the original diaper and still run a size small (my son wear 4 in pampers but 5 in these). These never leave a rash either- love them!! I hope they make these in size 6 and training pants. I always put these on my son when we are going to out shopping and such for several hours too. They hold #2 great as well. However, I would not use the size 1 or 2 if your baby has loose newborn stool, better after their intestines seal up around 3 months. Oh and they have the little cartoon character that is on the package on them. Something different to look at.
UPDATE: Still awesome but I have noticed they run more closer to size. I originally said they run a size small like the regular 7th generation, however I now believe these run more true to size. I have had different packages of this brand in the same size before be different size from one package to the next. But this does not happen all the time. Still my favorite diaper and worth using so my baby does not wake up crying because his diaper had leaked!

Both our sons use Seventh Generation and we have absolutely no problems with them. If they start waking up wet then it means it's time to go up a size...

I've been ordering size 6 for a while and last week I received my new shipment. First thing I noticed was how small the box was. The bag of diapers also seemed small. I didn't think much of it. Then when i was ready to put on the diaper on my son, the diaper seemed smaller in the front. OMG. when I got up in the morning to get him ready for the babysitter, the diaper had exploded. there was clear beads all over him. the diaper was hanging off one tab. he was a mess. I had to put him in the shower and wash him off. Thank God, he didn't poop. I found a diaper from my last box and you can definitely see the difference in size.

I have an 18 month old who has been waking up every morning for the last four months or so with a soaking wet diaper and a mess of wet sheets. Needless to say, it has been exasperating. I used Huggies Overnites for a while, but it seemed like I was paying extra for using something that worked no better than a regular diaper. The Seventh Generation Overnight Diapers are the best I have used to date. Over the past five days there was only one morning that my son ended up with a leak. That was this morning. I would have given five stars if he'd woken up dry today too :) Either way, this product is just short of a miracle.
This diaper differs from other overnighters I've tried in that it has extra padding from end to end, whereas a lot of leading brands simply have extra absorption in the crotch area only. My son sleeps on his tummy with his butt in the air, so the extra absorption in the front is where it is needed most. Given that my son sleeps about 12 hours, I think one leak in five days is pretty amazing---and it wasn't a blowout like I've experienced with other leading brands.
As I have said about other Seventh Generation products, I appreciate the fact that it is not chlorine bleached etc., that said, however, we Americans are a fickle bunch. If you are going to be put off by the dingy beige color that comes from not chemically (and thus aesthetically) treating the diaper, you might want to go on looking for another miracle :)

When you get these you will immediately notice the distinctive light brown color of the diapers. As a father of four, I am used to white diapers and when they get light brown they are most certainly "dirty" if you know what I mean. So to see diapers out of the box in a light brown color was disconcerting. See my picture above for a comparison.

Second you'll notice that these are much more "plasticy" in feel. This is reminiscent of diapers from about 10 years ago where they were shiny and plastic feeling. Newer diapers are more woven, cloth-like texture. This may not matter to your touch, but it does matter in absorbency.

I've been a committed Pampers Cruisers user for years because they work overnight on my kids. This diaper did alright overnight so long as I check on the baby when I went to bed. I will say that this is the first diaper I've ever taken apart and had urine spill out. Not just leaked because the diaper wasn't straight or burst, actually overfilled and no longer absorbing to the point where there was still liquid on top of the absorbent part inside the diaper. The wood pulp and synthetic gel just doesn't hold up in my experience.

I am a big fan of going green, and I am happy to see some company try to make diapers less of a burden on our landfills. I am a fan of Seventh Generation and have used their cleaning liquids with success. But these diapers need to be better at their core responsibility: keep baby dry and clean. They just don't hold up compared to Pampers Cruisers or Huggies.
