Love them, but prefer the refills...,

This review is from: Seventh Generation Free & Clear Baby Wipes, 70 count Tubs (Pack of 12) (840 Wipes) (Health and Beauty)
I am a big fan of Seventh Generation's wipes. I've been using them for some time on our newborn daughter, since I'd ordered a case of the refill packages on Amazon before she was even born. They are moist, non-irritating, and free of a lot of the scents and chemicals in so many other wipes out there. And I didn't think I needed all the plastic containers, so I was quite happy with using the refill packages...
My husband and I used them at every diaper change -- which can be 8, 10, even 12 times a day for a new baby. We were going through them so fast that I went online to order another case. Unfortunately, the refills were "currently unavailable" on Amazon, so I ended up ordering the case with the regular packages, in the plastic containers. Okay, so I still love the wipes, and I still prefer them to anything else out there. But I have two gripes: First, as already mentioned by another reviewer, it seems so terribly wasteful to have a case of twelve plastic containers. The refill packages are easy to use without the plastic container, so all that plastic is completely unnecessary. Amazon, please re-stock the refills! Second, my husband and I both observed that the wipes in the plastic containers seem to be less moist than those that come in the refill packages. We were a bit disappointed by this, since the moistness of the wipes is a major appeal of this product. It makes them easy to use and very thorough in cleaning baby's bottom between baths. The wipes still work fine, and we still love them, but there is definitely a difference in their moistness as compared to the refill packages. A five-star product in three-star packaging equals four stars in my book. I hope to see the refill packs available again soon... UPDATE: As of late October, Amazon has the refills back in stock! They seem to come and go, so catch 'em while they're here!

Much better than Tushie wipes,

They are thicker, can be pulled out with one hand, and less expensive! One of the reviewers said they were dissapointed that they use Polysorbate 20. But if you do some research you'll find that it's a widely used emulsifier, a viscous oily liquid derived from lauric acid. Lauric acid is a common constituent of coconut oil and some berries. Polysorbate 20 is a nonionic surfactant, meaning it has no electrical charge (very important). A surfactant is a wetting (surface active) agent that lowers the water surface tension permitting it to penetrate more easily.
Not a nasty chemical as it sounds. I wouldn't think this company would use a nasty compound anyhow. They take pride in their formulations. I strongly recommend this product and I concur with the reviewer who said that you don't need all the plastic containers, stick with ordering refills... Hope this helps.

Love these wipes,

These wipes work great... they are soft and very moist. I was using the Pamper's Sensitive prior to getting these and they were always much drier. The only gripe I have is that I ordered these in bulk and received 12 containers of wipes. I wish I had just ordered the bulk of refills because it is so wasteful to have all of these plastic containers now.
