5.0 out of 5 stars Ha, I guess the smell isn't for everyone?
When I saw all the bad reviews, I couldn't believe it!!! This is hands-down, my favorite all purpose spray, ever!!!

I love the smell! Maybe it's one of those scents that you either love or hate? Or I think maybe it's a smell that a lot of consumers might not be used to.

1.0 out of 5 stars P - U !
As I walk by my kitchen, I keep thinking, "What is that terrible smell?"
And then I remember. It is this stuff. Yuck!

I like lemongrass. I like thyme.

But this is vile. And it doesn't even clean that well, either.

When I saw all the bad reviews, I couldn't believe it!!! This is hands-down, my favorite all purpose spray, ever!!!

I love the smell! Maybe it's one of those scents that you either love or hate? Or I think maybe it's a smell that a lot of consumers might not be used to.

In the world of food / scents, the flavors and smells used, are really limited. Think how often you see the same flavors everywhere. Lemon, Orange, Lavender, Vanilla, Mint, Tropical, etc... Our consumer palates are not as refined as we like to think they are. We smell something we recognize, and we create a scent memory.

I grew up using a lot of herbal cleaning products and things like that, so maybe I'm not as sensitive to the smell?

Regardless. This product is GREAT! I use it everywhere, I clean my counters, my stove, spills on the floor, wipe down my dog's crate, bathroom, etc... When I want to clean I spray and wipe. When I want to let it disinfect, I spray lightly and let air dry.

Because of this spray, my house glistens! (And smells great) haha.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, April 11, 2010

This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
I LOVE the smell of this cleanser/disinfectant, which I bought to use on my kitchen counters. I won't go back to the harsh sprays I've used in the past. It has a natural, herbal aroma, I LOVE it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Smell before buying, March 27, 2011
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
I LOVE this stuff! I use it to clean the kitchen counters and stove top and it cuts through the grease just fine. I also use it to clean my bathroom from top to bottom. I spray down everything, shut the door (to keep the cats out) and go back in 10 minutes. I dry everything off that is still wet and it works to get rid of the water spots on our dark bathroom counter and the faucet (and with a bit of scrubbing it gets any old calcium build-up off the faucet too.)

A couple of things about this product:

- It is a disinfectant, but to get that benefit you have to let it sit for 10 minutes to effectively kill off whatever is lurking on your surfaces. (Some folks don't realize that you have to let it sit...)

- It has a smell that lots of people don't like. It mostly smells like the herb thyme, so if you don't like the smell of thyme, you won't like this product. I would suggest finding this product in a store and smelling it before buying to see if you will be able to tolerate it. (The smell is strongest for about 5 minutes after using, and usually dissipates within 10 - 20 minutes, depending on how large the room is and how much cleaning you've done. My bathroom tends to smell like this stuff for a good 30 minutes after I've cleaned in there, but that's because I've sprayed down every single surface and it's a small room with no windows.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Not toxic, January 19, 2011
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
This is the only cleaner I can use to lock myself in the bathroom for an hour and clean with. The smell doesn't make me feel like my brain is frying and is rather pleasant in an organic way. It cleans everything fantastically too. I can spray a tough spot on the counters and wipe it away after a minute. Great cleaner! Environmentally friendly!

While I wouldnt buy this product online here because of the price, this product is very affordable at most other stores. I pay about $3.50 for the same bottle at Whole Foods. Before going "green", I was using 409 All purpose cleaner and I used to get so light heading when using it. I don't have any problems breathing with this product and I actually think it smells good, although my husband doesnt agree. I love all Seventh Generation products since I've started using them. The word must be spreading about how great the brand is because the price is becoming less expensive!

5.0 out of 5 stars works great, I think it smells good, September 28, 2010
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
Great cleaner, I use it everywhere and it cleans really well. I hate synthetic scents from toxic cleaners so the smell of lemon grass and thyme is rather refreshing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous product, September 26, 2010
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
I use this for everything, and I feel so good about using it because I'm not spraying all sorts of toxins around my house and family. The smell is very fresh. Most "regular" brands have such strong, fake smells that give me a headache and make my nose and lungs hurt. Kudos to Seventh Generation for coming up with an all-purpose, disinfectant cleaner that is non-toxic, eco-friendly and that actually works well! I won't buy anything else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!, September 17, 2010
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
This stuff is great! A lot of people complain about the smell, but I personally very much like it. It's a powerful smell, but it smells herbal, not like overpowering bad perfume (which is what I think many commercial cleaners smell like). It does NOT make me want to sneeze, which is nice. The other reviewer was correct in saying it dissipates quickly.
If you think Glade actually smells good, this may not be the product for you.

Also it does a bang up job on everything. I use it for fingerprints on stainless steel appliances and i have a bottle for the bathroom but, by far, the greatest use is in the kitchen. It's super for disinfecting cutting boards (especially after cutting meats like raw chicken) and for countertops.

I have gone through more of this cleaner than any other spray cleaner I have used previously. I usually just use dish soap on most things, but the disinfecting properties of thyme oil have me won over. Called the companya nd its 100% plant based and tested to be safe for food surfaces like cutting boards and counters. I spray it on, let it sit, wash it off and no worries.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleans well and smells fine to me!, June 4, 2010
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
I bought this because I wanted a green cleaner that actually disinfected. I wanted to be sure my counters were safe after working with raw poultry and was sold when I saw that it kills salmonella, e coli, staph, and influenza. Some products leave terrible streaks on my quartz counter tops but this product did not. They're just clean and shiny - no residue. I know some reviewers do not care for the smell which puzzles me since it smells like thyme. I like the smell of thyme - I cook with it and grow it in my garden. I'm not sure why the bottle says it smells like lemongrass because it smells only like thyme. If you're worried about the smell just go smell some fresh thyme before ordering this to determine if you can handle it.

5.0 out of 5 stars What the hell? Love the smell, September 21, 2010
This review is from: Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Cleaner, Lemongrass & Thyme 26 fl oz (786 ml) (Kitchen)
I dont understand why some reviewers find the smell so bad. Has the product changed? I love the the smell. In fact it is the reason I'm online now looking for the exact same product after my local supermarket stopped carrying it. This is the first time I've gone looking online for a cleaning product! The smell is mainly that of thyme, fresh and light. What's not to like? The product also does a good job at cleaning.
