Dishwashing is a pleasantly fragrant experience when you use natural dish liquid that contains essential oils and botanical extracts, such as French lavender harvested by co-op farmers in the foothills of the Alps, or handpicked citrus fruit from sun-bathed southern Italy. This dish soap is also available in a scent-free, hypoallergenic Free & Clear formula for sensitive skin.

If every household in the U.S. replaced one bottle of 25 oz., petroleum-based dishwashing liquid with our plant-derived natural dish liquid, we could save 125,000 barrels of oil!

Let me just start out by saying that I was not expecting much from this dishwashing liquid. This is the first Seventh Generation product I have purchased after seeing their products in several stores and always feeling a bit curious. I was using Dawn and was perfectly happy with it, but recently I have been on a "green" binge and decided to try biodegradable laundry detergent and dish soap. I read reviews that said this dish liquid doesn't suds up like Dawn or Palmolive, and that it doesn't cut through the grease and leave the dishes as clean. I have to disagree.

I have always been a person who uses "too much" soap when washing dishes, so I may use more than is necessary, but I found that the dish liquid had just as many bubbles, if not more, than Dawn. I love the scent, it is nice and doesn't smell fake or chemical like some of the regular brands. I compared a glass I washed with Dawn and a glass I washed with Seventh Generation, and they looked the same. I couldn't tell the difference! I even asked my husband to give his opinion about the amount of suds in the sink compared to Dawn, and he said it looked like there were more bubbles than normal. I use gloves, so I can't comment on how soft my hands were after using it. It is much cheaper on Amazon if you subscribe and save, since I paid over four dollars for it at my local health food store. Bottom line is that I like it and I will continue to buy it.

As others have said, Seventh Generation products are usually great; they're good for the environment and easy on sensitive skin. I like the lemongrass and clementine scent best although the lavender and mint is pretty good, too. This cleans better than most other non-toxic, all natural dish detergents. It suds up well and cleans very well, and lasts a long time. I go through about a bottle every 3-4 weeks, but I wash a lot of dishes. We're a family of 5 that usually has a lot of people over, and eat almost every meal at home - and I still use the dishwasher at least once each day.

I only buy this on sale at Amazon, usually through subscribe and save. At our local stores, this is over $3 per bottle, but at Amazon, it usually works out to just over $2. The shipments have changed from 12 bottles/package to 6 bottles/package, which is nice because it's hard to store a dozen bottles of dish liquid.

I have recently started using the Seventh Generation dishsoap after a long and exclusive relationship with Mrs. Meyer's dish soap.

The main thing to remember about Seventh Generation is that the consistancy of this soap is like water. It's very easy to over-squeeze. A little does go a long way. There are suds. The fragrance (at least of the lavender based scent) is very minimal. There is also a free and clear version that has no scent at all.

This product does a great job cleaning my dishes. Glasses shine. No streaks when I leave the dishes to dry in the drainer. My pots don't require a great deal of extra scurbbing. There is no aftertaste left on anything (a problem I occasionally had with another brand). It is gentle on my hands. I couldn't ask for much more.

I do have to say that the scent is minimal. I am not a fan of lavender. Actually, I hate the smell of lavender but have had no issues with the smell of the Seventh Generation lavender based scented dishsoap.

The price point is also very good in comparison to other green products. Love that fact as well.

Overall excellent product that I highly recommend.

We were about to run out of my favorite Dawn Ultra Concentrated Dish Liquid and because I was familiar with the Seventh Generations brand of Diapers, I decided to purchase their dish liquid in Lemongrass & Clementine Zest during a recent sale on Amazon.

There was some initial concern that shipping could get messy, but when I received them they were packaged VERY well and each bottle has a seal under it's cap to further prevent leakage.

The smell was a very fresh, clean, citrus scent which was exactly what I wanted. The liquid although not as concentrated as what I am used to using, was still thicker than some I've used. When I did finally use some to wash dishes, I quickly found out that it IS pretty concentrated. Just a small squirt into the sink or on a sponge and I didn't have to go back for more for quite a while. With rinsing in warm/hot water, there was no leftover soap residue and even my plastics were "squeaky" clean.

When my baby first started on bottles we used Joy liquid dish detergent to wash the bottles and they constantly smelled strongly of orange (and not in a good way - in a chemical way). We switched to this detergent and I LOVE it. Cleans well, no scent. I use it in a 50/50 mixture with water in my foaming soap dispenser and we wash our hands with it. I especially love that it is available on subscribe and save because when I realize I'm low I just go online - no special shopping trip!

I noticed the new formula (free and clear version) irritates my skin and my allergies to scented etc. things. I checked the label and online and guess what - this supposedly healthy product contains sodium lauryl sulfate - a chemical that has been reported to cause all kinds of health problems. If you have any doubts do a google search on SLS health effects.
