Important Information

Ingredients
Our training pants are made of chlorine free wood pulp fluff, sodium polyacrylate (also referred to as SAP or absorbent gel), polyolefin nonwoven fabric, adhesives, polyolefin film, synthetic rubber elastic strandsThe color of training pants is typically achieved through the addition of color pigments to their inner and outer cover materials. This is also true for Seventh Generation training pants. While most designs on the market use pigments that result in a white color, we use a combination of pigments that result in a light brown color. Without the addition of color pigments, these materials would be colorless, much like a plastic milk jug. We use brown pigments to help distinguish Seventh Generation Chlorine Free Training Pants from others in the marketplace that are bleached with chlorine-containing substances. All disposable training pants, including Seventh Generation’s, rely on man-made materials to deliver the high-level performance that parents expect of modern training pants. These materials are mostly petroleum-derived and are not renewable, which adversely impacts the environmental footprint associated with these products. At Seventh Generation, we are pleased to offer an alternative that is not bleached with chlorine, and are working hard to further improve the sustainability of our diaper products.

They are the only "green" ones I've found but they leaked so much I had to put 2 on my daughter every night & at nap time (!!)

Like the diapers, I don't have to worry about chemicals/chlorine bleach sitting on my child's skin.

I have no idea what other people are talking about not liking the new version of this diaper or what the massive outcry and fuss is all about. I suspended my subscription after reading all the bad reviews here (I get 3 boxes x 4 at once, since I have twins, and didn't want to take any chances). I went to the store and bought a small pack to test out, much more expensive than Amazon. First, I expected a foul smell. I opened up the pack - and...nothing. Then, I expected worse performance. Again - nothing... I honestly cannot tell the difference between the old and the new version of this diaper, even side by side unless I TRY HARD. Use with confidence is my verdict. And for the record, I am not getting any free diapers (where do I sign up?), but I have used many brands and kinds of diapers over the years and this one gets my vote.

If your child has minimal mishaps then this product will work great for him/her. However, it is not absorbent enough for true beginners w/ frequent mishaps and heavy night time use. I purchase many products from the Seventh Generation Line and will purchase this item again, but at a later time when he is closer to being potty trained and we only need to rely on the training pant for an occasional mishap. There are so many "vine" reviews on these new free and clear diapers, which is a promotional program that is funded by companies to give free products to "vine" reviewers on Amazon so that the new items can have several reviews posted at the time of launch. As a parent, it's hard for me to trust opinions of those who have received the products for free. Isn't everything better when it's free? I can think of a lot of products that I would've rated higher if I hadn't had to spend so much money for them out of my pocket. How many negative reviews are given when the people writing them have been compensated with free products and the promise of more free products for writing the reviews? Just think about it. I'm not saying "vine" reviewers are lying, I'm just saying there is a skewed perception possibility. If I want truth, I find reviews by people who have paid their hard earned dollars so you can get an UNBIASED review - it's a bonus when the person reviewing has experience with the brand so they are aware of the changes and quality standards.

Well, today is your lucky day...
I AM a parent of diapered babies, I AM a long-time seventh generation product user, and I HAVE used a few packs of these free and clear diapers. I am NOT a "VINE" freebie reviewer - I put my pretty pennies to work to try these out and what follows is HONESTY, unbiased, pure and simple. Here are the pros & cons I found with these new "free and clear" diapers:

**It absorbs more because it has more SAP gel inside and less wood pulp, this is also why it is much thinner than previous versions. SAP is controversial with many parents in the diapering community, I'd suggest you research it to make up your own mind for your own child.

This is my first review ever and a longtime amazon shopper. It takes alot for me to write a review but Seventh Generation needs to hear this. I am sure their sales are way down b/c I am not a picky shopper.

The old version was great. Never leaked no matter how much my 2 yr old urinated at nights. I looked at the reviews for the new ones and could not believe that something that worked so great could end up being so poor.

I bought it as I have used 7th Gen for over 2 yrs. The new pants are lighter and thinner. In the 1st week, my 2 yr old had leaks onto her bed 3 days out of 7th. I gave it a long chance and Had to return the unopened bags. Either that or into the dumpster.

I WARN everyone not to buy this or you will be disapponted.

If my 3.5 year old son drinks even a sip of water before bedtime, these leak. I'm still searching for a relatively eco-friendly night-time pull up option....

My youngest wore these for way. too. long. He still wears them at night on occasion. We love them. They are comfortable and they are the only ones that don't leak or leave a rash. He was not ashamed to wear them when he first started Kindergarten because if they did peek out over his pants, the color was brown and they didn't look like normal pull-ups. As a parent, I liked the ease and sturdiness of the side panels when putting them on. They don't seem to tear apart as easily as every other brand out there! I would highly recommend these for the long haul to dryness.

Also, we used the old and "new" formulations and both worked equally well with the same results. I've been using this particular item for two or three of my kids over a span of five to ten years.

These are great to have on hand if you're going on a drive or to the store and don't want to take a chance of having an accident while you're out. I use them occasionally for naps also. I don't leave them on his all day because they are just like a diaper, like pull ups, and don't really teach him to go potty in the toilet. Definitely something to keep in a cabinet for shopping/errand days and they are a good quality. The diapers are beige, have the Lorax on them and are very comfortable for him to wear.
