...another winner by Govi...,
By "a1aparrot" (canton, ohio United States) - See all my reviews

If you enjoy great "new age" guitar music with style and rhythm without it becoming annoying or obtrusive Govi is the artist. This newest cd is no exception to Govi's talent, the man is gifted in making great music. Seventh Heaven follows in the tradition of previous releases Andalusian Nights and Passion & Grace which are excellent also! (there is no such thing as a bad Govi cd) Uplifting and soothing at the same time, this music is always a joy....

Wonderful music from heaven!,

I love Govi's music style and this CD is no exception. I was hooked right from the first song "Rising in Love" and never touched the FORWARD button on the CD player. It's a fine combination of rhythm/melody/percursion that makes this CD another winner. Other outstanding songs are Havana Sunset, Language of the Heart, Garden of Eden and Gypsy Heaven. You might also want to own his other CDs like "Passion & Grace" and "Guitar Odysey", those are fine Govi's work in my opinion.

Quality,

Govi has a style and talent that anyone can like. This one and Guitar Odyssey are my favorites although I have not heard every Govi album. Govi is great to have on while studying, reading, or just relaxing after hard work. Enjoy!

Very Good -- if Not Quite Heavenly,
This review is from: Seventh Heaven (Audio CD)
The music on Seventh Heaven is unmistakenly Govi and again very well recorded; clean, full, and with great detail. Two cuts are fast moving, one is medium paced, and the rest are slow and soft, of which two are solo guitar. As the editorial reviewer reports, this music on this CD goes well with a glass (or two)of nice wine. I recommend that Govi fans purchase this CD. However, if you do not already own any of Govi's previous releases, I suggest that you first buy "Passion & Grace" and "Guitar Odyssey". These are truly outstanding --- Govi at his absolute best. Beautiful guitar music from the heart!,

This is one awesome guitar CD to listen to! The better your system, the more incredible it sounds (this disc is an HDCD release, and sounds 'like buttah' on an HDCD player... check out hdcd.com)! Listening to this on my pair of high-end audiophile MAGNEPLANAR speakers transports me to nylon string heaven! The arrangements here are very accomplished and satisfying, and very melodic and passionate. The level of musicianship is very apparent also given the synergy with other musicians that play on this disc. If you like Govi, you must also listen to the artists 'Strunz & Farah'. Govi and Strunz & Farah are my favorite bands in this great genre. I truly hope Govi continues to release music that is similar to 'Seventh Heaven', for he has reached his stride with this one!

Wholly Uplifting,

"Seventh Heaven" is wholly uplifting. Every cut is at the same highly refined level of artistry. Govi ably conveys the complex emotions associated with Nuevo Flamenco and I listened to it over and over to the neglect of my other music.

What beautiful and soulful guitars !,

Had a hard time looking for Govi's CD's here in Kuala Lumpur. I was introduced to govi when i purchased the Guitar Greats - Best Of New Flamenco. Finally caught hold of two Govi CDs (this and "Adalusian Nights")Govi's music is outstandingly intoxicating, with the beautifully written and played melodies. A totally refreshing breeze of fresh air when i listen to Seventh Heaven. Haaaaa ! (Seventh Heaven is too short though, just a near the 3/4hr. mark! 65 minutes shud be more like it. "Disappearing Into You" + "Havana Sunset" are my most loved tracks. Simply delicious! GREAT CD. Grab it today.

Genuine or copy?,

The CD did not look like the original I have, which lists the songs on the CD. It only said "Govi" which made me wonder if it is a copy and not an original.

I am a big Govi fan, having purchased eight of his CDs. This one was particularly good with minimal songs repeated from previous CDs.

Govi is without doubt one our finest living composer players of all things stringed, Aptly named Seventh Heaven is another gem, ten songs without words lyrical yet complex, Latin inspired and unplugged layer upon layer of melody and mystery reward many listenings.
