4.0 out of 5 stars Freakin Awesome.., June 17, 2004
I have been listening to TMR via the anime circuit for a long time. I've just now gotten the opportunity, thanks to Tofu Records, do dig deeper into the TMR music scene. When I saw Gundam Seed a few months ago, I immediately noticed the music! Very cool, classic synthy Jpop..ahh my fave! I was really surprised and elated when I heard there was a company who was going to put out TM's stuff here in the US. I am SO glad they did!

This disc is great, the only reason I didnt give it 5 stars it mainly because I think the actual sound enginering could have been improved upon in some songs. There were so many ways they could have highlighted Nishikawa-san's vocal power with a little more finess. He really is unmatched as far as male singers go, even here in the US. He's got this incredible range and clarity, it's just awesome. His songs also have, and I like this a lot, a very distinct sound and rhythm (bleh, spelling ^^; ) Each song has such a different and unique sound and feel. I especially like songs 2, 3, and 8, as that's my Jpop lovin roots coming out :D

I hope people will pick this album up, as well as Coordinate, because we NEED more Jmusic released here! The US is missing out on some REAL talent..unlike the dreck we're forced to listen to here in the states. :P I recently read an interview on Tofu Record's site with TMR, and Nishikawa-san was really excited that people in America wanted to hear his music! Even though we dont speak the same language, bad ass music is bad ass music. *_* (rolls on poster of Nishikawa *_* *_* *_* ) Go, buy, now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Adorable techno-pop!, October 26, 2005
Like alot of people, I first became a fan of T.M. Revolution by hearing his songs played as anime themes (Heart of Sword from Rurouni Kenshin; INVOKE from Gundam Seed). But despite being a fan for a while, this is the first of his albums that I've actually owned. I recently ordered it and was absolutely thrilled! It was everything I hoped and expected it to be.

The music itself is extremely catchy, extremely cute techno-pop. Most of the tracks are very upbeat, but a few take the time to slow it down, so you can wave your lighter around. ^_^ His vocals are great throughout the entire album- I don't think there's one song where he sounds much better than the others; he's very consistent. I personally prefer the faster songs- my two favorites being Albireo and Wheel Of Fortune.

One negative thing I could say about the album (and alot of his music in general) is that many of the songs start to sound the same. Of course, if you're like me and absolutely love the music, then that's no problem. If you are a more casual listener, however, I would suggest not going out of your way to fill out your TMR collection; you might be a little disappointed.

I also would like to mention the liner notes and art. Because this CD is being put out through Tofu records, the lyrics are spelled out phonetically, so dorks like myself can try and memorize them. The art is nice, featuring pictures of Takanori in both goregous light and dark costumes. And, for all my fangirls out there, he's quite a lovely man. ^___^

All in all, it's a great album, whether you are a new listener or a big fan. It's just poppy enough to give you your saccharin fix (with far fewer calories than candy!), but still good enough to actually sit down and listen to.

(PS- Takanori Nishikawa is a great live performer, so I recommend his Summer Crush DVD, as well. The music, his costumes, and the candid video are to die for, even though I don't understand the Japanese!)

5.0 out of 5 stars T.M. Revolution's Seventh Heaven Album Really IS Heaven, November 24, 2005
I've had this CD for about two months now and it's still the one I listen to more than any others in my possession. All of the songs are absolutley wonderful and, when I bought it, it came with a lyrics booklet which included pictures of the singer throughout it. The music is catchy and upbeat and makes the listener want to dance around to it. Some of the songs would even be good to DDR to!

I admit, it did take a little while for two of the songs (numbers 7, GUNJOH, and 10, Tears Macerate Reason) to grow on me because they were slower and a bit more lazily-paced but the more you listen to them the better they start sounding. GUNJOH is particularly beautiful in the fact that, while it begins almost a capella with one voice, it ends with instruments backing the singer as well as a secondary voice that allows for a truly stunning and lovely harmony.

The lyrics are easy enough to memorize if you hear it a few times, which explains why I came close to begging my choral teacher to let us sing one of the songs in a concert, and the rhythm is also easy to learn.

This CD is definitely worth the money spent. Although the vast majority of it is in Japanese (what could one expect from a Japanese band? Don't get me wrong; I love TM Revolution), there are bits of English spread through the songs such as in number 5, Arterial Fear, and number 9, Engraved on the Moon. It adds a little flavour to an already delicious selection of Japanese music created by the same singer to bring the world songs like High Pressure, Heat Capacity, Burning XMas, and Yoake Mae (Heart of Sword from Rurouni Kenshin's ending theme). The songs on this album are as follows:

1. Key to Seventh Heaven (instrumental)
2. Albireo (the album version)
3. Zips
4. Destined For...
5. Arterial Fear
6. Graceful World
7. GUNJOH
8. Get Over the Rain
9. Engraved on the Moon
10. Tears Macerate Reason
11. Wheel of Fortune

Not only are the songs on this album great to listen to and get energized by, but they're also fun to use to judge your knowledge of the Japanese language in pronunciation and the Japanese to English translation of words by basing them on context of the words you know and those around it. Personally, I think TM Revolution is definitely at the top of the best music list with Rammstein following closely in second place. If there's any advice I can give you on this CD, it's get the album because you'll absolutely love it.
