Product Description

"He's watching me with wide eyes; I know he felt it too.... The vampire fills me with warmth but the Wek makes my soul flutter."

(Book 2 of the Parched novel series)

Zillael hates high school and the tiny one horse town she lives in. She has no friends and no social life, both by choice. All of that changes the afternoon the fog rolls in and she soon finds herself face to face with three parched vampires.

She soon comes to realize that her boring, small town life is not what it seems and finds herself falling in love with two very different supernatural creatures. But on the day the fog rolls back into town, she finds herself on the verge of discovering who and what she truly is.

If this is the first book you've read in the Parched novel series, then the next book to read after finishing this one is Parched (book 1).
PARCHED SERIES BOOKS AVAILABLE:

Parched (Parched, book 1)
The Seventh Sister (Parched, book 2)

From the Author

*PLEASE READ*

I decided to make the second book in the Parched novel series shorter to deal with the limitations of writing in the first person point of view (or POV). Parched Book One, and the series in general is told in Clarity's POV but as the saga continues to unfold other sisters will be introduced, and their lives are interesting as well!

After completing Book 1, I knew it was time to introduce Zillael, who in my head had this entire backstory. She's in love with two supernatural creatures, and they all will fold into the main plot in Book 3.

How their association came to be is the focus of book two. However, the end of this book picks up at the point in Book 3 where the main plot is ready to introduce these characters into the story in order to move forward, they do not make an appearance at the beginning of book 3.

If this is the first book you've read in the Parched novel series and you wish to continue reading on, then  Parched (book 1) will be the next read. You shouldn't move on to Quenched (Parched, book 3) without first reading book 1.

This is written in a fresh bouncy YA way and I enjoyed it. Zillael (prob. spelt that wrong)is the type of older teen that always seems to be in detention, due to her attitude. She hates the small town she lives in, the people around her, the fact her mom is never around and of course the way everyone stares at her because she is a beauty. During a detention stint in which she has to serve punch to fellow classmates, she is attacked by vampire like beings and that is when she finds out that not only are some people around her not entirely human, but neither is she. The only thing that bothered me about the storyline is that it took me a while to figure out her age, because in the beginning she appears to be much younger (based on reactions in class and classmates) and it wasn't until the author mentioned a car she drove on occasion, that I realised she must be over 16. The scenes with the young male vamp in her bedroom are a bit racy (only a tidge, so I would recommend that the reader be over a certain age). THe book ends in a way that interestingly enough you have to read the first book to understand where and who Zill actually is. I recommend that readers of supernatural/para fantasy give this author a go.

I'm Intrigued October 13, 2011

Someone told me to download this book. I took a chance and downloaded it. No one wants to read a bunch of mistakes but I didn't see all those errors, just one or two, the kind of stuff you find in all books basically. I'm intrigued by the series. To be honest, I'm not a reader of fantasy but one of my friends told me to try it. So I read it and now I'm in to it.

This series says it's for adults but it's for teens too. I would say 17 and older because there's one scene that's sort of something you don't want your 16 year old doing but it happens though, as a parent you just don't want to know about it. Now that I'm hooked, I'm reading Parched and so far so good. Although Parched is book one, and this is book two, it was kind of confusing at first. It's not linear.

P.s, I did notice that I downloaded a second edition that's why I was so nicely surprised. If the author is out there, maybe you should let people know that. I think that's a better edition.

Love this too! September 25, 2011

Okay, finally finished it and fast. Loved it too! I read Parched first and this series is far from being cliché. This sister, Zill (sorry can't remember how to spell the full name right now) but Zill is mentioned in Parched and I'm glad she wrote a story to bring her into the main story. I'd like to see more about Fawn in the same way, and even Baron. I also like how different Zill is from the other two sisters. And I like how different the vampire in this story. Vayle I think is different from Baron. I can't wait until they all get together. Come on book three! This review is rushed but there's so much more I want to say about this series. I'm just glad it exists because it's really entertaining. Oh and one more thing. I think the description says that it's not YA. So, for the other person to say what she said is wrong. Just thought I'd say that.

More About the Author

I have a BA in Broadcast Journalism and an MA in Communications Studies from California State University, Los Angeles. For the past three years I've read scripts, providing coverage for production companies and screenwriting contests but have been writing fiction consistently for 12 years.

Less formally, I absolutely love TV and am not ashamed to admit it! I've recently completed all 7 seasons of The Gilmore Girls and am watching all 7 seasons again. Before The Gilmore Girls, I watched all 4 season of Felicity about 4 times. I'm holding my breath, waiting for China Beach to be released on DVD. And I have a remarkable list of favorite TV shows, Mad Men competing for the top spot with Fringe. Yes indeed, I love TV. I also love Seattle, Washington, which feels like the color blue to me--tranquil, cool and yet vibrant. And more importantly, truly what I love most is writing--and to watch the world around me so that I can tell its stories.
