5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent fantasy
I have been a fantasy fan for a long time, but once I got to this series, nothing I had read before in the line of fantasy could compare except the original triligy by Margaret Wies and Tracey Hickman. I read the Night of the Eye, Dragon Wing, and this book by Mary Kirchoff. It was a little slow in the beginning but picks up quickly. The characterization and plot...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
To offer an alternative view, I felt this was definitely one of the lower end DL novels. I especially couldn't stand where the character developements went, and the tuatha magic had a very un-DL ambience about it. It did have a nice plot to back it up though, culminating in a wonderful climax. This is the only thing making it worth while, and it might be quite a lot...

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent fantasy, October 12, 1998
This review is from: The Seventh Sentinel (Dragonlance Defenders of Magic, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
The characterization and plot are very good. I would especially recomend this book to young readers because of the themes in the book. I had to admire Guerrand especially for the choices he had to make, but I also couldn't help but feel some pitty for Lymn because he obviously was not in his right mind because of his past experiences. If you like fantasy with a deep plot, I think you would like this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best conclusion book I have ever read, September 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Seventh Sentinel (Dragonlance Defenders of Magic, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Without spoiling this book, it had a wonderful plot twist from the first the Night of the Eye, to the Medusa Plague, and then this conclusion, the Seventh Sentinel. I love what became of Lyim, and the fates of Guerrand and Bram. Of the Defenders of Magic Trilogy, I feel that this is the best of the three. The descriptions did not leave me utterly confused when I put the book down, yet did not insult my intelligence. Finally, I loved how they tied information from the two previous books into this one. I would suggest reading this entire series (suggestably from Vol. 1, to 2, and finally 3.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down for a second!, July 7, 1998
This review is from: The Seventh Sentinel (Dragonlance Defenders of Magic, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was an excellent conclusion of the trilogy! I am a big fan of the Defenders of Magic Trilogy and I must say that I couldn't think of a better way to end the three book sequence. If I hadn't have read the first two books I wouldn't have been able to follow all of the plot, so I recommend that you read the first two if you are interested in this fine novel. But don't let that dismay you, all three are the best books I've ever read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definately a Good Introduction to Dragonlance..., January 17, 2000
This review is from: The Seventh Sentinel (Dragonlance Defenders of Magic, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was a very good book. The first book, Night of the Eye, got me into the Dragonlance world, and since, it has been one awesome and fun trip. I highly recommend to anyone who hasn't read any dragonlance novels, or to those who have but are looking for presents to give friends or relatives to pick up this trilogy as they will find it most rewarding.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing ending of a good story built by the previous two books, October 6, 2006
By
This review is from: The Seventh Sentinel (Dragonlance Defenders of Magic, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
The first and second book of this trilogy are good. Those two brings up interesting question of how the story will end. Especially in Medusa Plague, where there is an moral dillema of friendship and duty, and the line between what's right and wrong becomes unclear. But the last book dissapoints me. There should be better ending. Stories of the magical gauntlet which absorb magic and makes all mages powerless, other source of magic, the switch of the main character are too much out of the context of the first and second book. It has weak link with the previous two. It is a dissapointing ending of the trilogy. It should have been better...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Seventh Sentinel : Defenders of Magic (Dragonlance), June 28, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Seventh Sentinel (Dragonlance Defenders of Magic, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
From a differnt prospective I thought the book was very well written, could have been 5 stars........but didnt have the substance. The assasins which seemed strong at the introduction of the second book were made to look like idiots by being killed by Lyim. The ending was the best part of the book .
