Metal done right,
By P. Romero "Shoppier than the shoppiest shopper." (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

There are a lot of cookie-cutter metal bands out there who switch from the ever-famous heavy verse to melodic chorus, but DAYSEND takes that concept and kicks it up several brutal notches. Some of their influences shine through in the Mike Patton-esque vocal hook of "Born is the Enemy", to the powerful double bass reminiscient of Raymond Herrera. This CD is a masterpiece from top to bottom.

One of many great Australian metallers,

These guys do the so-called "swedish melodic metal" sound as good as any band you'd like to name, but without sounding like they're trying to copy them. Fans of Soilwork , In Flames et al will be impressed.

Aussie Melo-death metal at its finest. A shame they are so underated. But then again who cares about credit! This is Melodic Death Metal done right. Very surreal sound. Born is The Enemy is definitely my favorite! You gotta love that riff. I practically lose myself in it!

Daysend (Pronounced Days-end) is another fantastic metal band I discovered listening to the internet radio of Chronix-Agression.(www.chronixradio.com) I was impressed by them the 1st time I heard Born is the Enemy, and was equally blown away by the second song I heard by them, the relentlesly heavy, Blood of Angels.
The members of the band all came from well-regarded underground Sydney metal bands, and assembeled Daysend in 2002. Severance was voted Best Australian Metal Album in a Triple J listeners poll in late 2003. Pick this album up and you won't be dissapointed...
