3.0 out of 5 stars Another Revised Review, February 17, 2003

This review is from: Severed Eyes of Possession (Audio CD)
Wurdulak (consisting of Killjoy (as well as three other memers of his great band Necrophagia), Immortal, and Maniac of Mayhem) should have been a great black / death metal band, but instead it has degenerated to this mindless waste of plasic. When their debut ('Ceremony In Flames') was released I didn't think that it was horrid, but it was pretty bad. But because of how bad it was I could not wait for the next album, because it had to be better. Killjoy, Immortal, and Mayhem have never dissapointed in the metal genre, so 'Ceremony In Flames' must have been a fluke. As it turns out, it wasn't just the album that was terrible. but the band. When I first picked up 'Severed Eyes of Possession' I got a chuckle out of the artwork (which obviously pokes fun at Impaled's infamous artwork) and thought that it would not be that bad. The first track - "Rescued by Oblivion" - is just plain stupid with boring riffs and irritating vocals. Several tracks later I was introduced to the God awful "Sin Eater", an atrocity of black metal. "Severed Eyes of Possession" - I hate to admit - was a decent track, but that alone cannot save this album. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge black / death metal fan (not that [other stuff] (Dimmu) but real stuff (Godless North and Samael), but I cannot stand this album. Maybe it is me, but I will never buy another Wurdulak album again. Please stop Wurdulak, you used to be talented, why destroy that?
