I purchased this music box two day's before x-mas, after my son declared he had to have a music box for x-mas! It is all wooden, and smooth. He is just three and can wind it easily himself. It play's a lullabye......Lullabye and Goodnight is the tune I believe. Very nice sound. He is so happy he can wind it himself, and carry it around carefully, and I am happy he will not break it into a dozen pieces. Very cute and well made. Would purchase another one. Yes, it was pricey, but it is very hard to find a kid friends music box that sounds decent I think.

I ordered the "sevi creative music box space capsule toy" for my son's 1st birthday. While it is recommended for kids of 3 years or older, I wanted to get it more as a keepsake and allow him to look at it while being supervised until he got old enough to play with it on his own. I always buy him wooden toys that are preferably eco-friendly and beautifully designed, the kind of toys that will last for a very long time. This music box is small and beautifully made. The colors are very vibrant. Unfortunately, our music box came broken. When I would wind it, it would fast forward without playing the melody. It also had a long hairline crack along its base. I really wanted it to work out, but had to return it. I think Sevi makes unique toys, but this is the second time that I have ordered Sevi and returned it (the first one was a xylophone which didn't make much sound and also had areas where the wood was chipped). Sevi is designed in Italy, but is made in China... I will probably give Sevi another try in the future. If you are looking for wooden toys that are eco-friendly, "Plan Toys" are a great company.
