The valves they have on this tube will not stay closed!

If you buy one of these, don't wait until you get to the river to try to inflate it.

We had to stop several times for each tube to be re-inflated.

I bought 4 of these excpecting them to be ok for an afternoon of calm tubing on a lake. The first one developed a series of holes from rubbing the sand where my friend wasn't quite deep enough in the water to float out into the lake. The second one split the seam in 2 places - one on each han.dle. The third somehow got the internal bladder twisted around from deflation when it was test inflated at home prior. The result: couldn't inflate it again without one side bulging out causing gross deformation. Only one stayed operational the whole time. I threw them all out afterwards

I have used this tube for river tubing trips. Four friends have the same tube (they purchased from WalMart- I purchased from Amazon). One of the 5 tubes had a problem with air leaking from valve #2. After ten minutes of fiddling with the valve the air stayed in for the rest of that trip.

I have used this tube for a total of about 15 hours and it has grazed some rocks in shallow areas and has not popped. On my most recent trip I had a hard time getting valve #2 to close, and several times air leaked out. Eventually I pinched the valve shut for about a minute and when I let go the valve stayed shut. It stayed shut for about 4 hours on the river until I opened it to deflate it.

It helps to have an air pump- either from an inflatable mattress or one that plugs into a car cigarette lighter- because blowing up the tube takes a while.

The snap-and-stay system works much better than I thought it would. Five tubes form a ring large enough to place a cooler (on a float) in the center.

I'm sure better tubes exist, but for the price, I am happy with this one.

Bought several and they are under the winter cover right now and all are still holding the air that was placed in them. All in all a good all around product. The seams on the material are hefty, the handles are also hefty. Even the actual material that you see as blue is very thick and very much durable, Not for river use but for pool use they hold extremely well.

I don't normally give one-star reviews, but this just isn't a useful product as-advertised.

Valves won't stay closed, just like most everyone else. It's apparent how the valves are supposed to work: there's a plug on both ends of the blowtube ("double locking"), and when you push the blowtube down into the main body of the valve, it is plugged at the lower end. Then you put the cap on the upper end. In theory, it should be pretty great.

And then, after a couple seconds, just on its own, the blowtube pops up away from the valve, and then the topcap pops off, and the air comes out. Even when underinflated.

Given how widespread the problem is, it seems like a manufacturing defect. On my way to return it. If you buy one of these, don't wait until you get to the river to try to inflate it.

We bought 3. By the time summer was over, we were down to 1. The others developed leaks. We did not abuse them. We have 2 little girls and we used them on lakes. They are just not great quality.
