5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff January 25, 2009
I bought some of this at a sewing expo a few years ago, and it's wonderful for tracing out patterns (like the Kwik Sew patterns that are printed on heavy paper, or the Jalie patterns: you can trace off the exact size you want, or any sewing patterns that you need to adjust to fit properly). It drapes much better than paper, and you can sew it. It's heavier in weight than the tissue paper that the big pattern companies use, so it's also a little bit sturdier for paper pattern fitting, and it's sheer enough that if you're tracing a pattern with strong lines, you can do so at the kitchen table with a light overhead instead of using a window for a light table. I'm fully planning on buying more when I run out. Oh, and a 10 yard roll lasted me about a year (though it does depend on how much you use, and how often you sew).

5.0 out of 5 stars Best for tracing October 1, 2009

This is by far the best tracing material for patterns I have ever used. It is sewable and much easier to make adjustments for your figure type. The pattern you trace can be used again and again without deteriorating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Live Without It! January 11, 2010

This stuff is amazing, now that I have discovered it I never want to be without it. It's great for copying patterns out of books, or copying any patterns you want to preserve. Its much easier to work with then traditional tracing paper or the tissue paper style patterns. It drapes beautifully and is sheer enough to trace easily. It is also perfect for making your own patterns. And its durable enough to use over and over again. It took me about 6 months to go through my first roll and now I am stockpiling it so there isn't a chance that I ever run out.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT product October 9, 2011

Pretty sure this is just interfacing, but what a fantastic idea to use it as tracing paper. This stuff is fantastic--durable and easy to use. If you're looking for tracing paper, look no further. Great product. Will buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Sewing Companion December 29, 2011

I love this stuff! Seriously, you can't have enough of it. I hate making muslins when I sew, so sometimes, I'll just use this tracing paper. It's heavy enough to act as a muslin, but thin enough that you can keep it as a pattern alternative. I primarily use it when I'm working with vintage pattern pieces that I don't want to damage, but as I said, it can also be used when muslin is not available or if you don't want to whip up a whole dress. I like to make my bodice pieces out of it to try on and adjust as needed.

Anyways, if you're constantly sewing your own garments and need to make adjustments, or working with vintage patterns, this stuff is a must.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for anyone who uses patterns March 20, 2011
Verified Purchase
This is a wonderful product. Before I had this, I had ruined so many paper patterns, either I cut it wrong, or the size ended up being wrong, or, more commonly, some liquid got on the paper and it just destroyed it!

Now, I just trace my pattern out onto the Swedish Tracing Paper (which is sturdy but see through) and save the original pattern intact. The traced pattern can be used over and over again without much fuss. If I lose weight, or a friend wants a smaller or larger size, I can trace the new size, preserving all the other sizes with the original pattern! It is brilliant!

One roll can trace quite a few patterns, I would say at least 7 dresses. Possibly more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product July 12, 2011

This tracing paper is actually similar to lightweight interfacing fabric (perhaps it is)- I'm sure it could be used as such. It cuts easily, doesn't tear, you can sew a garment from it to test it out and patterns will last. A really good buy, highly recommended.

I transfer all of my PDF patterns onto this tracing paper instead of using the paper patterns. I have even sewn a bodice for fitting purposes using it. Lasts a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this stuff!
I highly recommend this for tracing commercial sewing patterns! As many have said, it feels like interfacing, and sort of "clings" to whatever you're using it on.
