Last year was the first year I purchased the Sewing Calendar Sewing 2010 Daily Boxed Calendar, and while each and every project made me smile, there were only a handful that I actually wanted to make. After a small internal debate, I bought the 2011 Sewing Calendar and I am very grateful that I did. As usual with me, I came home and ripped the wrapper off the pages and thumbed through. Shocked, I made a pile of projects I had to make ASAP and projects that could wait, but the ASAP pile was huge!

For those unfamiliar with this calendar, over 100 cute little sewing projects are presented, a different one every 3 or 4 days. These were submitted by popular craft and sewing bloggers. This year, there really is something for everyone. There are very cute fashion accessories, such as the ruffle headband for April and the chef's hat for November. For those who like purses, there are over 11 bags, including one that looks like a guitar! I am making the lunch bag for sure. There is a skirt and a pair of pants for adults, 3 baby projects, over a dozen kid friendly projects, a dozen or so holiday projects, about 20 home decor projects and more!! This set of patterns is amazing! I would buy all these if they were in a book, and having them in calendar form so I can have ever changing inspiration is great.

If you like sewing and crafts, even if you just like looking at them, buy yourself this calendar. It is well worth the money.

Highest recommendations.

I am so disappointed that this calendar is not being published this year. I loved all the simple projects this calendar offered throughout the year.
Maybe if enough people request it again, they will publish a 2013 edition. I will be the first to place an order!

While the contents, the day by day pages inside the one-a-day calendar, are fine, the holder is horrendous. It is flimsy cardboard and it does not stand up well. It lays almost flat which makes it nearly worthless as a display and it falls over with the simplest jostling.

I am not sure why they migrated away from the previous year holder. It worked wonderfully.

You will probably need to use packaging tape and more cardboard to make this display work well.

Not much to say about this edition except I think the 2010 calendar was superior in terms of project ideas. Don't get me wrong, it feels like there's a million ideas in here, but some were scraping the barrel in terms of whether you'd really go out of your way to make them and some were just downright lame. Still, there are a few I'm keen on.

A note to the publishers in particular - why did you scrimp on the box this year? Last year's was so sturdy and stood up to much handling, but this year's is clearly going to struggle.

I really like this calendar except for the way the box changes into a stand. Last year's was box/stand was MUCH better. Other than that...yay!
