Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Like many other conveniences of modern life, your sewing machine can be a best friend or a worst enemy. If you've ever feuded with yours (or if you've even avoided making the acquaintance of one) you'll probably be ready to take it to a party by the time you're finished with this book. McWilliams takes the frustration out of all those previously unpleasant little tasks that kept you from the enjoyment of sewing: choosing equipment; altering patterns; working curves and corners; attaching collars, sleeves, cuffs, and plackets; making pockets and buttonholes; adding designer details; and more. Best of all, you'll be proud to wear your creations because they'll look professional, not homemade. --Amy Handy

I was looking for a resource for shirts, and I checked out "Shirtmaking" at my library, but I found this book to be more informative, at least for what I was looking for, than the other. There's more tips in here that the latter and it's quick to read through due to the step by step pictures on it. I think the best part of the book is the part about easing in a sleeve cap with the differential feed of the serger. It's just genious!
