4.0 out of 5 stars A very visual guide
I bought this as an "adult" give for my husband. There wasn't really much "new" it in. But it does have tastefully done pictures. If you are looking for a "manual" this isn't really it. BUT if you are looking for a way to open up on a more intimate level with your partner this is a good place to start.

2.0 out of 5 stars Save your money
Unless you are total virgin, this book is a waste of time and money. Definitely do not buy this book if you have or intend to purchase the Orgasm Bible - they are the same book except for maybe 3 pages. What a waste of money. Not a waste of time as there is very little substance in this book by way of words, pictures, or wisdom. Save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Why a Middle Aged White Woman assumes all Black men want her!, February 3, 2011
By
This review is from: The Sex Bible: The Complete Guide to Sexual Love (Paperback)
Susan Bakos is a hack plain and simple. In her many "essays" around the web she often times will go into great detail about why "she" likes this as opposed to that, and why "she" prefers "Black Men" to "White men".. and why "Black men" prefer her. It's absolutely nauseating from the black perspective. Here this "well past her prime" sexual dynamo once again displays why her advice is as dated as her hair style... seriously. This woman is gross, inside and out. From her class-ism's to her indelicate handling of race and relation. She is an absolute train wreck... I found her through a white woman I dated for a year and half. She had been reading some of Miss Bakos rubbish and was very excited to finally understand what her extreme attraction to black men was all about... I felt immediately objectified and studied. It ruined my relationship with this woman, I couldn't look her in the face after reading the article that had free'd her from her quandary.
In her sex bible she once again talks from a perspective of clinical froth and romance-less pessimism. There are many great sex manuals out there and they serve to re-excite and further the bliss that well performed sex offers the players, this however... is an extreme
YAWN!
Bakos needs to get back to the classroom, and maybe start up a relationship with someone as Jaded and high stepping as herself. From where I sit the only possible thing this woman can hope to do for the sex lives of all who read her, is make it harder to enjoy and appreciate the natural desire and selection process that we are all born to experience...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Book for the shelf, December 20, 2011

I listened to a radio cast and decided to buy this book to see what the "professionals" had to say. Listening to the radio vs details put in writing are two different things. The book is a hard read at times because of the medical terms used for the body. What I thought I was one thing, my sister (a RN) told me was something totally different. She agreed that the book was very technical and that the average person would have problems. Needless to say, I just learned different names for the same old stuff.

This is a great resource for spicing things up in the bedroom. I enjoyed the fact that the photos were tastefully done without appearing pornographic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Author is racist, November 13, 2009
By
Ben Stevenson "BenS7" (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Sex Bible: The Complete Guide to Sexual Love (Paperback)
author wrote an entire article for NY Press about why white women love black men:
[...]

Susan Crain Bakos likes black men -- a lot. It's all about sexualizing them, though, reducing all of them to their skin, to their presumed sexual prowess, their instinctual energy and innate masculinity. If racism is about assuming things about people based on their physical traits, how is this not racism? More disturbingly, her desire, conscious or not, participates in the kind of sexualization of black men that once justified their persecution and even murder.

Not one black man out there who is honored by the fact that this woman sees them as only useful for sex. She's clearly saying that they are not the marrying type, they are not intelligent. No mention of hard working dependable honest men. Nothing that would make a person proud of themselves. She apparently thinks that they are just the new version of the hired help. Her whole idea is to have them come in and service the rich old white woman. Welcome to the world of prostitution, better get your sex worker's union card. Who is this woman, using black men like an automobile, then trading in for the next years model. Race issues aside no one could be satisfied with the lack of respect in this form of relationship.

How could you purchase and read anything she's done after reading that article?
