2.0 out of 5 stars Pointless reissues, February 4, 2006

Although I'm giving them 2 stars for the gorgeous cover art (especially this one). Suffice to say, most SATC fans own the original individual season sets or the pink box. Do these new themed-sets feature ANYTHING new? No. No new commentaries, nothing. A waste of money and shelf space.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kristin and Kim, May 20, 2007

This review is from: Sex and the City Essentials - The Best of Lust (DVD)
This is about all i need of SATS-3 episodes.
The writing is always witty and i laughed a few times.
What really gets me through this show is Kristin Davis and
Kim Cattrall. With many facial close-ups of the women,I find
it interesting studying the contours of their face. Kristin especially has the biggest eyes i think i've ever seen and the shape of Kim's jawline
alters interestingly according to expression. I sit spellbound watching the lines and form of their faces. I'm perplexed why Kristin pulls her hair back so tightly in some scenes. It actually looks painful! When she lets it down and it hangs so gorgeously around her face ( a perfect example of this is her guest appearance on an epidode of Seinfeld)I know why i watch this show. Kim has no painful appearances with her hair. I always love the way she fixes it. One other thought...I enjoy the opening credits to the show with our beloved World Trade Center towers looming large in a couple shots and several nice closeups of the angular, shiny silver crown of the Chrysler building. It's interesting to think that this series was pre-911 and pre-tiny cell phones, as Carrie is using a large off-white AT&T cordless from her bedroom. The emphasis on finding men for the ladies which is the guts of the series would probably not fly now. As a matter of fact, I think the concept of Sex and the City has morphed into The L Word.
