1.0 out of 5 stars Be Warned..., August 7, 2002
This review is from: Sex & The City (Score) (Audio CD)
Although this cd may look promising, be warned. None of the songs on this cd are even sung by the original artists and the theme song is WAY too short. If you're a fan of all things Sex & The City like I am, stay far away from this so called "compilation disc" which is more of an insult then it is enjoyable. The people who sing these songs do an ok enough job, but it's just too kareoke and not worth anyone's money. One way you can tell the cd is fishy is that the cd itself says "music inspired by" which means these songs aren't even featured on the show. Granted, they should also put that sticker on the official Sex & The City cd, but at least that cd is good; even if a little disappointing. I'm anticipating a Volume 2 which will hopefully feature the show's theme which is now even appearing in a cereal commercial. Why it's on there and not on any of these soundtracks is beyond me, but if you are going to buy one, I urge you to pay more for the official disc and leave this trash in the cheap bin. The only thing good about this disc is it's comedic value for trying to fool us buyers into thinking the lady on the front of the cd is Sarah Jessica Parker.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Fooled!, March 16, 2002

The first 'song' is a snipet only - a very short version of the Sex and the City Theme Song. The rest of the songs are good songs, but they are not performed by the original artists. Most of them sound ..OK, but some of them sound a bit off. It could be because of being trained to the versions the 'real' artists sing(i.e. This Kiss and Breathe are not performed by Faith Hill and you can tell because the voices just are not strong or 'technically improved' I guess you could say). I really wanted this CD for the theme song - it's so catchy. The only way to get a good tast of it would be to hit the repreat button about 10 times.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not What You Expected, June 6, 2003

I bought this CD because it was on sale, and it seemed like a good deal. Honestly, I think the purchase was worth it just for the Sex and the City theme, but every other song on the disc is just a cover, in other words, the original artists are nowhere to be found in the vocal recordings, but I guess thats why they can sell the disc at such a cheap price.
