The Girls Are Back! YAY!, June 1, 2010
This review is from: Sex and the City 2: The Stories. The Fashion. The Adventure. (Paperback)
I've loved the show for years and was always jealous of their sense of style. I totally loved the movie and this book is a fashionista's dream - a wonderful reference guide to all of its couture fashion - and full of interesting and entertaining behind the scenes stories. For anyone who is a fan of the show and its movies, this is a wonderful keepsake. Let's hope that we don't have to wait 10 more years for more!

Beautiful photography; heavy on fashion, June 28, 2010
This review is from: Sex and the City 2: The Stories. The Fashion. The Adventure. (Paperback)
This book seems to get mixed reviews here, but I bought it anyway. Full of beautiful color photography, this book does not disappoint visually. As in the book about the first movie (
Sex and the City: The Movie [SEX & THE CITY M/TV]), at times, the art department went a little overboard on the retouching, completely obliterating any lines underneath the stars' eyes (male AND female), giving them a completely unnatural smoothness. C'mon people--they all look great...let 'em show their age!
The emphasis on this book is the fashion; for Sarah Jessica Parker, her character Carrie's outfits are detailed in page after page, giving the info on the outfits, jewelry, and shoes. The other three stars do not get the same amount of space, which is a shame, because the entire franchise of Sex and the City is about the ensemble. It does get a little sickening how much SJP puts herself front and center with the publicity.
Plenty of other interesting anecdotes though: how Morocco filled in for Dubai, how the set was created for Stanford's wedding, Liza Minnelli's surprise gift to the cast, and how a Times Square restaurant was transformed into Samantha's office. The beginning of the book gives a brief recap of where the characters were at the end of the last movie, which serves as a nice bridge.
Fans of the second movie will enjoy this book. My only other gripe is that a hardcover edition was not made available.

LOOOVE IT!, June 2, 2010
This review is from: Sex and the City 2: The Stories. The Fashion. The Adventure. (Paperback)
This book is fabulous. I love the behind the scenes look at the sets and the interviews with the cast members. The book really captures the essence of what SATC is about: the fashion, the girls, the guys, and how it all comes together.
If you are a fan of SATC you will love this book.
