More About the Author

Kimberly Dawn Neumann is a popular New York City-based writer who frequently covers the dating/relationship/sex beat. A Summa cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland School of Journalism, her advice articles have appeared in such magazines as Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Marie Claire, Maxim, Health, Women's Health and regularly for online sites at msn.com, AOL, iVillage and Match.com. As a dating/relationship expert and certified coach, she has given online dating advice to TV/radio audiences from Seattle to Australia, and helped launch Match.com's "It's Okay to Look" ad campaign by working with their featured members to help them craft a perfect profile. In collaboration with relationship therapist Joel D. Block, PhD, she released her first book in December 2008, The Real Reasons Men Commit: Why He Will -or Won't--Love, Honor and Marry You and her second book, Sex Comes First: 15 Ways to Save Your Relationship - Without Leaving Your Bedroom landed on the shelves in May 2009. In February 2010 she launched www.DatingDivaDaily.com in an effort to return the "fun" and "feminine" factor to dating via a lifestyle interactive blog-zine where women can commiserate about their foibles searching for Mr. Right in a supportive cyber community while also enjoying advice on everything that makes a gal feel worthy of a quality relationship. A seasoned Broadway performer in addition to being a writer, she has seen (and experienced) more than a little relationship drama making her privy to first hand information on the dating and relating scene. For the honest woman, and presumably the honest man, this book is a must read if you want to work on having a successful relationship. Read it, then read it again. Be honest with yourself. Recognize the parts of the book that really speak to you and listen. Ask your partner to read the book too. If you truly want a mature, adult relationship, this book will help you.

The paradigm has merit the execution is more complicated than the title alludes to. The approach is some what simplistic.

Format: Paperback
I normally don't read relationship books, but Kimberly Dawn Neumann's other writings have always intrigued me, and we have become friends. She writes in a breezy but concerned and helpful way, and listening to her is like listening to a wise but friendly and down to earth girlfriend. I found that the advice in here-- mostly about relationships with significant others-- could apply to any relationship in your life. Nor was it all about sex, as the title suggests. The cover also makes it appear that the book isn't that serious, however, there was some very insightful advice, not at all along the cliches of the "improve your sex life" lists usually begotten in women's magazines. Not all of the answers are easy, but they are always informative and enlightening.
