From the Publisher

Growing up is a joy we all look back on. Some, like Ed Williams, look back better than the rest of us. In this collection of tales, he relates tales of his youth, tales told to him by his dad, and more recent pranks which may make you think he never grew up.

He tells about stepping out with the girl down the road and running over his steady girl friend's dog while taking this girl home. His tale about stink perfume reminds us of the fun boys (and men) can have with a substance that smells like a whoopee cushion sounds. More recent escapades have him involved in a try at collecting workmen's comp for jock itch, and asking a cruise company if it's OK to take a cruise with someone other than his wife.

His story on barium enemas demonstrates how funny such experiences can be fun - when it's someone else having the experience. Ed's stories sometimes touch a tender note, such as the tribute to his uncle with the unusual nickname of "Dog." He also tells of triumphs like winning a singing contest with his impersonation of Elvis.

More About the Author

I'm a Southern Outlaw Author, I've had three books published. One was called "Sex, Dead Dogs, and Me: The Juliette Journals," the next was called "Rough As A Cob: More From the Juliette Journals." A story of mine, "Sally the Screamer," appeared in the Southern humor anthology, "Southern Fried Farce." I wrote a column called "Free Wheelin'" for several years and have spoken to groups all over the southeast. My first novel came out just a bit over a year ago, a Christmas story entitled, "ChristmaSin': A Juliette Christmas Epistle." Finally, "Sex, Dead Dogs, and Me" has just been re-released as a Kindle book. I guess I'm kinda like the Forrest Gump of Literature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lewis Grizzard Reincarnated, August 20, 2000

The funniest book I've ever read. Can't read it at night because I keep my wife awake laughing. At last my search for great Southern humor is ended as long as Ed Williams keeps putting out this kind of quality writing. He is good ... very good! Guess I'm gonna change from Grizzard's Sprayberry BBQ to Ed's Nu Way hot dogs .... that ain't all bad 'cause Lewis did before he left us. Don't miss a real treat. Try Sex, Dead Dogs, & Me for an antidote for the dreadfully dull political babble which we are about to experience for the next few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars "BREATHLESSLY FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING", June 5, 1999

This review is from: Sex, Dead Dogs, and Me: The Juliette Journals (Hardcover)
This book was as a gift from the most beautiful lady in Alabama and I want to thank her. This book was a great pressure reliever. I have not laughed so hard in a long time--actually brought tears to my eyes--it was GREAT!! Each Chapter is it's own little short story. My favorites were Stink Perfume, The Vapors, The Brotherhood, and Porno Movies. The way Ed tells each story puts you right there it is so easy to visualize the situation you are laughing right along with him. I actually felt like I was right there participating in the particle jokes. As a matter of fact the experiences Ed writes about are similar situation I've experienced. I found myself recalling some of my own similar experiences that added to my laughter. You don't have to be from Georgia to appreciate this book. Although Ed writes about things that happened to Ed in a small Georgia town but no matter where you live you can relate because of similar experiences. This is a very entertaining book to read. You too will find yourself laughing resulting in tears forming in your eyes too. Again thanks for the gift I love it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outrageous, hilarious county-boy stories, October 22, 1999
By A Customer

This book will make you piss your pants, you'll laugh that hard. And Ed Williams is truly a magnificent person, although his moral taste may seem a bit "unscrupulous" to some, I have met him and his is really just a country boy full of stories. Defietly a must read! -Ryan
