Give Yourself (and your lover) a Great Gift!, January 28, 2010
This review is from: The Sex Devotional: 365 Days of Passion, Positions, and Pure Pleasure (Paperback)
For fans of Olivia St. Claire's wildly popular "how-to" books, The Sex Devotional is her best yet--a delightful culmination of her previous works that draws from a deep well of research, experience, and wisdom on one of our favorite subjects! This must-read book gifts her readers with daily inspirations designed to awaken desire and develop sexual potential, each delivered with St. Claire's signature humor, economy of words, and lyrical style.
Grouped within fifty-two themes to correspond with the number of weeks in a year, each page of this insightful book delivers thought-provoking (and provocative!) techniques, from the softly sensual to boldly erotic. Using references from nature, art, ancient texts, and popular culture, St. Claire guides us toward fully embracing our female sexuality, not only as a vehicle for pleasure but also as a powerful source of creativity in all areas of life. By helping us to recognize, maintain, and strengthen the mind/body connection that is essential to great sex, St. Claire proves once again, that she truly "gets it."
Whether you're happily single or rapturously involved with a partner, a relative novice or a veteran practitioner in the art of love, The Sex Devotional belongs on your night table. After all, who knows when you might be inspired to try the Kundalini Mudra or the Bali Toe-Tug Orgasm? (By the way, buying this book for yourself may just turn out to be the best Valentine's present--other than you, of course!--that your beloved ever received.)

Olivia Does It AGAIN!!!!!!!, January 27, 2010
This review is from: The Sex Devotional: 365 Days of Passion, Positions, and Pure Pleasure (Paperback)
Wow! I recently received my new copy of Olivia St. Claire's new book, The Sex Devotional, and I want to stop everything on this busy day and just read it cover to cover, RIGHT NOW! It may be my favorite of all Olivia's fabbo books, it is too soon to tell yet. But this I can say; it has that same classically and beautifully written style she has that distinquish her work from other similar books. Her writing is luscious and voluptuous whether she is writing about Sex in Ancient Sumeria or in the bathtub or in the grass. She writes Great Literature! about Womanly Things. And she has a way of telling us The Really Naughty Bits VERY GRAPHICALLY but never vulgar.
And tell us, she does: from Ancient Sex Secrets and Scenerios to more modern lyrical musings on Our Female Issues such as Negative Body Image, etc. Her Day 26 actually got me off the couch, into my sweats and to the gym; I was a Major Mess, feeling fat and wanting 2 Krispy Kremes, , New Gym Clothes or, ok, at least CLEAN gym clothes....but I got there anyway, sweated and stretched, often awkward but In Motion. I felt svelte and thrilled afterward and very very pleased with myself. And I felt painlessly and effortlessly energetic and sexy the rest of the day.... Thanks to Olivia.
Have I "tried it out" on Male partners? Absolutely. Her wise, supportive, lyrical, funny, and voluptuous writing translates wonderfully and accurately to The Bedroom, Floor, Tree, Floor, Kitchen Table, whatever! And her books always have wonderful sensuous covers, suitable for your bedside table or especially as a gift. Give her a try! Start with the Brand New One: The Sex Devotional, (my favorite for sure) and pick up the others later.
SUPER GIFT! I often give at least one of Olivia's books to female friends for showers, birthdays, weddings, engagements, hostess events, thank yous, Christmas or just because women always love them. Olivia's books are a Perfect Gift....They are always timely, and modestly priced, They are totally different and better than all other similar titled books and they WORK!
BEST OF ALL: Valentine's Day is coming up...and it's not to late to get a copy by then!!!!!!!! Happy Reading and uh, Doing!!!!!

Total waste of time and money, June 27, 2010
This review is from: The Sex Devotional: 365 Days of Passion, Positions, and Pure Pleasure (Paperback)
I thought that this would be like a Kama Sutra type of book judging by the title but it wasn't. I don't consider telling me to do a strip tease, run a hot bath with candles or holding a towel over my partners rear to make him feel "more connected" to me to be a sexual position. It was a total waste of time and money.
