But this film has a lot more going for it than just graphic violence and kinky sex. The director's style of filmaking, the cinematography, the hypnotic imagery, and the soundtrack are just amazing. If you're like me, you'll find yourself humming the theme song.
Is it an erotic art-house flick or an exploitation film? You decide. This film is, in my opinion, a true cinematic masterpiece. I don't want to give away too many details because I don't want to spoil it for anyone. All I can say is, BUY THIS FILM. Once you've seen it, you'll be begging for more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
The film is a classic entry of the 1970's Japanese sexploitation film, where movies had more going on than naked women and samurai swords. Sure this film has plenty of both, but there is an real elegance to the film, particularly the action sequences.
As Ocho kills every other person listed in the closing credits, she moves with a grace that belies the blood spilling across the scene. Action movies are often described as "kinetic," but this particular film would more accurately be called "fluid." It is a gory but beautiful masterpiece.
You'll need a strong stomach, a sense of humor and cherish
good ol' fashioned sex and violence - you will be pleased
with this DVD.
What can I say more, go for it
Just typing to say that this is the exact same DVD that Panik House Entertainment released--which is now out of print--but with, of course, different case and disc artwork. It even has the Panik House logo because Synapse Films bought them out. Thank you, Synapse! I hope this means there will be more great Panik House pinky violence DVDs (and hopefully Blu-ray Discs) in the future.
Highly recommended. A very good product of a very good movie with excellent video quality.
As this was the first movie I've seen that falls into the `pinky violence' genre, I wasn't sure what to expect. Movie censors in Japan during the 70's prohibited full frontal nudity, and while many of Sex and Fury's sex scenes were probably quite risqué at the time, they seem somewhat clumsy now; those viewers who place prime importance on that aspect may be disappointed. As for the violence, stylistically, I think it was ahead of its time, though movies have caught up and surpassed it since. What is noteworthy about this movie in particular is its use of sex and violence in the service of a linear (if convoluted) plot, its lurid and colorful cinematography, and the bizarre S&M imagery in the final third of the film. This is a movie whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts.Read more ›

Yeah, I wont rate it either as there is nothing to rate. Unless you are die hard fun of Christina Lindberg or maybe Japanese costumes there is nothing to say about this flick. Read morePublished on November 18, 2013 by aferdman
