About the Author

Carl "Tuchy" Palmieri was born in 1942 in an old mansion belonging to the former mill owner of the factory where his father worked. His family was one of six related families that occupied the mansion. The second son of Italian immigrants, he grew up in Westport, Connecticut. After receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Bridgeport he began his career marketing and installing accounting computers for the Burroughs Corporation. Twenty-one years later he started his own computer business in 1987. Today Carl lives with his wife Susan in Fairfield, Connecticut. He has three children, two stepchildren, and 12 grandchildren. His nickname, Tuchy, comes from having been one of three Carls in his family. There was a "Big Carl," a "Carl the Twin," and "Carluch," which meant "Little Carl." "Carluch" evolved into "Carlatuch," "Tuch," and finally, "Tuchy."

Oh, Tuchy, you once again have written a book that brings out many of my emotions.

Sex and intimacy have always been a huge part of my life but not always the greatest part. When in a relationship the sex is either way too important or not important at all. There has to be a median here. This book "Sex and Intimacy: The Gifts of Life" has helped me find that median.

The numerous quotes from a huge variety of celebrities are hilarious in their own way but also made me think. And, although I found myself laughing, I also found mysel sobbing as well. I remembered times when sex was all that mattered and I concentrated on my relationship I know have.

As always, Tuchy has included space for me to write my thoughts, my own personal journal of reactions to what I read.

This is a great book and I suggest it for everyone!

This author has a very unique style of bringing together quotations that help to enforce a thought or question. I truly have not seen all thing like this book before!
Tuchy takes the quotations from others, they are from all walks of life and puts them together for you to read in sequence, with a section at the end for you to jot down your thoughts so you can go back and revisit your ponderances, time and again.
The quotations are humorous, sarcastic, uplifting, biting and always on track with the chapters others quotes.
I found myself looking at these quotations in a different way. I always look for the underlaying meaning in quotations, but these had something more.. They say sarcasism has its roots in honesty. That's what you find yourself looking for..what is the underlying message?
I would advise anyone with trouble in intamacy, or relationships with men or women to pick up a copy of this book. If you take your time and really think about what you are reading, you might learn some fact about that special someone you never realized..
I also know this type book will be a different book to many readers. It is one that will entrance you, no matter who you are..and you will take away from it what you need.
I look forward to reading more titles by this author!

This is a great little collection of quips and quotes on sex and intimacy. Some will make you laugh out loud, others will make you stop and think ... a couple are a bit risque.

There is no doubt that sex and intimacy occupies a significant portion of our thoughts. So much of our daily lives revolve around our thoughts and attitudes toward sex. This little collection manages to catch the thoughts and ideas from many different perspectives.

Some of the more notable quips are:

If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

I read so many bad things about sex that I had to give up reading.

Having sex is like playing bridge. If you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand.

Money follows sex and sex follows money.

Sex is like baseball; you strike out more often than getting a hit.

Among men, sex sometimes results in intimacy; among women, intimacy sometimes results in sex.

Life starts with ups and downs (10 toes up and 10 toes down).

A woman has sex with a man to get romance; a man romances a woman to have sex.

Delightful reading. Fun and light. There are a couple of quips that the women's lib would frown on. But then you can never please everyone.

Tuchy has a way with quotes, and if he takes the advice of the many people quoted in this new book, he has a way with woman too!

I love quote books. (I'm sure I've said it before in other reviews.) It's one reason I am drawn to Tuchy's books. This one takes it to the next level with opportunities to write down your own observations or quotable words within the page. I think this book would make a fun bridal shower or bachelor party gift. I bet you could even make a game out of some of these by asking guests to finish the quotes or guess who said them.

There's a section of quotes from famous people about sex, woman and sex, men and sex, quotable definitions of success, the power of sex, religion and sex, and many others. The title of my review comes from a section on sports and sex!

I wish the religion and sex section were a little bit larger simply because the Bible is full of sexual references. (Song of Solomon is an entire book in the Bible about sex!!) There is no need for Christians to be prudish about sex (within the bounds of marriage of course!)

I have been a fan of Tuchy Palmieri for some time. I was excited to hear about the release of "Sex and Intimacy: The Gifts of Life". After reading the book, I was very thrilled that once again, it lived up and surpassed my expectations. The book is laden with very funny quotations that make the book a joy to read. The quotes are humorous, interesting, clever, and designed to make the reader ponder their own sex life and how they play a role in the game of intimacy.

The author includes places throughout the book where the reader can add their own thoughts and personal experiences. This takes the manuscript one step further than the average book. The first time you read it, you are reading a well organized and well written book. After you add your own thoughts and experiences throughout the book, it then becomes a personal journal that is totally unique to your experiences. This aspect adds to the re-readability of the book and makes it a treasure to have on any bookshelf.

I recommend this book to everyone. Way to go Tuchy, another great book!
