An absolute must see for all-beginning w/kids in Grade 4!,
By Connie Joye (conmjoye@yahoo.com) (Wagener, South Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sex,Love and Relationships:Curriculum [VHS] (VHS Tape)
After having had made choices that have left painful consequences in my life, my answer to many of those choices was, "No one ever told me." Even after having made a wrong choice, I continued to do so, desparately seeking to fill an emotional void that I thought would come from physical "love". Pam's video hits on the fact that "physical love" scars us emotionally and physically. The emotional bound that we so desparately try to fulfill on our own can come only when we learn to respect and love ourselves by realizing that our self-worth lies not in what others think of us, but in the love and forgiveness of the blood of Jesus - - certainly not by engaging in an act that leaves us scarred for life. Although, thank God, STD's are not a consequence of the choices I've made, I have the tough responsibility of raising 3 boys without much help from their fathers. I would gladly welcome the opportunity to publicly tell my life's story if I knew it would help even 1 young girl to realize that engaging in physical contact is NOT the answer to an emotional void. Pam's video impacts those at an age when they need to hear it. Pam, I'd love to help you spread the message!

POWERFUL INFORMATION!,
By Susan Cissel (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sex,Love and Relationships:Curriculum [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video was shown by a visiting RN to the students of the alternitive high school where I teach. What a powerful message Pam Stenzel has for all teenagers and young adults, whether they are already engaged in physical relationships or contemplating becoming sexually active. When I was a teenager all we worried about were the moral issues and getting pregnant. Too many people think HIV/AIDS is the only STD they need to be concerned about. Pam speaks matter-a-factly to teens about over 50 other sexually transmitted diseases, many that only abstinence will prevent. Most teens, and many adults who deal with teens, do not have all the facts. Pam makes sure that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision before you have sex, and tells you what options you have if you are already engaged in a physical relationship. We are making this video accessible to any student who wants to view it again at home. Our church ministers to a large group of "project" kids. We are going to use it in Sunday School. Wouldn't it be great if all teenagers had all the information they should have before they go out into the world?

The Texas Panhandle needs Pam Stenzel!,

I am a single father of two. I live in Amarillo Texas, a city with the highest teen pregnancy in the entire state of Texas. I was priviledged to see this video and would like to think that with the powerful challenges Mrs. Stenzel outlines, it would be very beneficial to have a rally here simular to the one she spoke of in Atlanta. My Son is 13 and my Daughter is 10. Both are at very impressionable ages. My son attended this showing with me and said he was really glad he went. We are very close and I could tell his thoughts were sparked. My daughter will attend next year. Mrs. Stenzel possesses the unique skill it takes to relate to the young crowds she speaks with. I was very impressed and wished something like this would have been available when I was a teen. I praise her stand and her passion for young people. I also want to praise our school system for allowing the PTA the freedom to show this video. Hopefully more schools will do the same and the results will turn our pregnancy rate in the other direction. If you can Mrs. Stenzel, come visit our city.

Relationships
Straight talk from Pam Stenzel Before a teen audience, Pam's powerful presentation on sex, love and relationships Today's youth are rarely told the whole truth about the consequences of sexual activity, experimentation and permissiveness. Teenagers love Pam Stenzel because she talks with authority (based on years of counseling and speaking experience) -- and she tells it to them straight, mincing no words in showing how pervasive sexual permissiveness of our culture is a DECEPTIVE TRAP. Every young person should have the benefit of this hard-hitting reality check. It is helping thousands avoid the disastrous consequences of unwise choices. This is material every teenager deserves to know. It concerns nothing less than their whole life and future. "Pam shares from her heart in this riveting presentation in a way that helps teens think through their sexual choices and their potential consequences... Of all the videos we use in counseling, Pam's message is the most powerful." -Sandi Reifsneider, North Penn Crisis Pregnancy Center, Lansdale, PA

It's About Time,

Pam Stentzel does an awsome job of relating to teenagers the medical, wordly and Christian reasons why its so important to practice chastity before marriage. This video is perfect for any parent, school or community who wants to arm their teenagers with practical information that will aid them in making the choice for chastity.

Very frank discussion that is great for 12 year olds to mid teenagers. Not real long but on balance that is good for the target audience.

Critical information for today's world!,

I saw this video in an educational setting and was so impressed I purchased a copy for my children and grandchildren. With fast-paced candor and comfortable humor, Pam Stenzel clearly informs about the realities of sex in today's world and the physical safety, moral strength foundation and mutual respect that abstinence can add to a relationship.

A must see,
This review is from: Sex,Love and Relationships:Abridged [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I watched this video with my 4 teens and it was a sobering experience for them. Today's culture says do whatever you want, just take "precautions". Well, as I told my kids, when I was a teen, every girl I knew that got pregnant was using "precautions" but ended up pregnant, and/or with STDs anyway. Pam's straightforward and honest approach appeals to young people and parents alike. My only reservation is that due to the age of the video, the statistics are outdated. Sadly, the STD epidemic among teens has gotten much worse since this video was made.

This Is An Abstinence Video But Won't Say So ...,
By
This review is from: Sex,Love and Relationships:Abridged [VHS] (VHS Tape)
... whether or not you think abstinence is an effective approach to sex education, you should be concerned that this video does not forthrightly acknowledge that it is an abstinence video until after you've paid for it and started watching.
The word "abstinence" does not appear in its Amazon discription, its title or on the box. This should be a source of concern. If you want an abstinence video, then you may as well get this one, but you have to wonder why it doesn't forthrightly acknowledge its nature. If you want a video that deals with effective means of preventing disease and pregnancy, you may prefer videos that start off with an more honest approach, such as those provided by Planned Parenthood. Or you might just rent "Walk The Line", the new Johnny Cash biopic. It pretty much lays out the bad stuff that can happen to kids who live the permissive lifestyle; fun up front, death afterwards.

Pam Stentzel is an awesome impact on teenagers these days. She tells them the truth about their decisions. She does this in a way that they understand and a way to keep their attention. i recomend this to everyone who has a child who is close to "that age".
