This review is from: Sex, Race, and Merit: Debating Affirmative Action in Education and Employment (Paperback)
As a 10+ year specialist in Affirmative Action in employment, I've gained new insight by looking at Affirmative Action in education. The book is a great compilation of incredibly useful articles.

Excellent resource for teaching about affirmative action,

This review is from: Sex, Race, and Merit: Debating Affirmative Action in Education and Employment (Paperback)
This terrific anthology provides much needed information about the realities of affirmative action in the United States. Not only do the editors provide text from actual court cases such as the Bakke decision, but they also have excerpts from various media accounts for and against affirmative action as well as scholarly dicussions including people such as Lani Guinier, Patricia Williams, Shelby Steele, Richard Rogriguez, and many others. I use this in my course on the history of affirmative action in the United States and it is very accessible for undergraduates. Also, an excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn about this social policy.
