4.0 out of 5 stars A Ghostly, Naughty Good Time, October 10, 2006
This review is from: Sex And The Single Ghost (Paperback)
Being an avid fan of Fantasy/Paranormal chick lit, I was eager to read this book. It's a story about a girl named Claire who died nine years ago. For the past near decade she has sat in "Purgatory", which is sort of like a version of the Afterlife, or Heaven.

Every nine years, souls in the Afterlife get to go back down to earth in their original physical body for one night - on Halloween. If in that time the person manages to touch a human's soul, they are allowed to stay on earth for nine days and nights.

Claire is desperate to get down to earth because she is dying to have sex. Yes, that's right - apparently in the Afterlife, there is no sex, no eating chocolate, no fun. (Who knew the Afterlife would be full of horny ghosts??) So upon her trip back to earth, she tries to track down the one man that she has desperately wanted to sleep with for years.

[...]

This was a good read overall, but not spectacular. The book paints the most depressing picture of the Afterlife, for one. Imagine sitting in a Heaven, waiting to go back to Earth to have sex. And speaking of sex, this book is bursting with it. There are no less than 5 vivid scenes where the two characters go at it in great detail.

The sideplot of Claire trying to track down how and why she died was interesting. However, the ending of the novel was ridiculous and cheesy.

Overall, I'd give this book a whirl if you are into ghosts having a naughty good time.

5.0 out of 5 stars She never fails to please..........., August 31, 2006
This review is from: Sex And The Single Ghost (Paperback)
Wow, Tawny Taylor has done it again. If you've read any of Tawny's books you won't be disappointed and if you haven't read her yet, well what are you waiting for, start here with Sex and the Single Ghost. This book has humor, hot sex and Claire, who even though is dead is so likeable that you may even see some of yourself in her. Not only does it have some really great sex but it's also about a journey, a journey that Claire undertakes to get answers about her death, however along the way she just may find the love and trust she has lost. Jake has wanted her for years and if she will just listen to her heart and trust in him, she may just find a love to last for all eternity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised!, September 27, 2006
This review is from: Sex And The Single Ghost (Paperback)
This is the first erotica book that I have read. I began reading it with some apprehention that it was going to get more graphic than I wanted to read. I was pleasantly surprised with a funny story line that had a capturing plot. I couldn't put it down! Tawny Taylor has a wonderful sense of romance and comedy with just the right touch of sexual tension. Better than any of the general romance books I have read. I fell in love with Claire and Jake and enjoyed being lost in their world. Of course, now I want to read all of her books, so I just order Wet & Wild!

4.0 out of 5 stars heated supernatural romance, September 2, 2006
This review is from: Sex And The Single Ghost (Paperback)
The ghost of Claire Weiss has some regrets about her present state. Her cat hates her, she can't eat chocolate and most of all that as a Spirit-American she cannot touch let alone have sex with her still alive beloved Jake. However, she has one chance to enjoy caressing her Jake if he lets it occur though nine years have passed since they have seen one another. If she succeeds in reconnecting with her cherished Jake Faron, they can share nine days and nights of bliss before she must move on though he hides a mystery from her as he chastises himself for not telling her how he felt nine years ago..

Jake still mourns the loss of his beloved Claire and has not moved on with his life. When Claire the ghost gives him an opportunity to make love he leaps at the chance. However, he has his plans to keep Claire with him even when her nine day respite is over.

This is an interesting second chance ghost romance starring star-crossed lovers unable to cope with their separation mindful of the movie Ghost. The story line contains a terrific early twist that ironically readers know, but the protagonists do not. Though the tale turns too often erotic with light bondage, fans of heated supernatural romances will enjoy this torrid paranormal second chance at love tale.
