The connection between soul and sexuality,

Paula Rinehart is a private counselor, and she uses examples from her counseling practice to bring a personal touch to this exploration of the connection between sexuality and soul. I was pleasantly surprised that Paula managed to cover this topic without resorting to ultra-conservative stereotypes and comments. She explains what women lose in casual sex, and where the power of a woman really lies. One chapter offers guidelines on how to recognize a man who is worthy of a relationship, and another paints the man's perspective of learning about maturity and manliness. My favorite chapter, though, is titled "Getting Back Your Heart" and talks about how to heal from non-marital sexual encounters. Paula explains the concept of a "soul tie" in a practical terms and shows how to get freedom from that type of spiritual and emotional bondage. I would recommend this book to any single (or single-again) woman as a required reading to help them understand the value of waiting for Mr. First-Best; and to married women for the healing of any pre-marriage wounds.

This book really hits at the heart of the problem!,

This review is from: Sex and the Soul of a Woman: The Reality of Love and Romance in an Age of Casual Sex (Paperback)
After getting caught up in the world of casual sex and realizing how empty and lonely living that lifestyle was making me, I was looking for a book that didn't minimize the woman's desire for sex. I didn't blame my lifestyle on male influences. I had chosen it because it made me feel good, at least for the moment. But after realizing the more permanent effects, I wanted out. Paula Rinehart addresses the woman as a sexual being and teaches her the value and pleasure and deep joy that can come from guarding her sexuality. Many other books I read either focused on the Biblical laws or portrayed the woman as a victim of the man. I highly recommend this book!!! I hope it blesses you as much as it has blessed me.

Challenging yet comforting read,
By Gigi Wing "Gigi" (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sex and the Soul of a Woman: The Reality of Love and Romance in an Age of Casual Sex (Paperback)
This was a fabulous book. The author takes a realistic, relatable stance on the effects of casual sex or casual intimacy on the heart, mind and soul of a woman, outside the safe parameters of marriage. Although she writes from the Christian prespective, the points and message of this book can be relatable to anyone, especially those broken by yet another failed relationship and who suffer a broken heart. It reads as if you are having a "heart to heart" with a friend with whom you feel completely safe and whose honesty comes from love, not condemnation. the best part: she offers solutions. You just have to be brave enough to take her input to heart and act on it.

Makes me feel good about being a woman,
This review is from: Sex and the Soul of a Woman: The Reality of Love and Romance in an Age of Casual Sex (Paperback)
As soon as I read this book I knew it was a jewel. I have bought many, many copies: gave them to all my daughters, neices, other friends. This information is so important, I wish all young women had it. I wish I had had it years ago, though I still was glad to read it after 35 years of marriage. Men need to read it too. It will help them to understand the soul of a woman and the role they play in women's lives. I recommend this book very highly.

This is the third title I have read by Paula Rinehart. I have come to the conclusion that anything she writes is going to impact my life and challenge the way I live. I wish I had read this one 30 years ago! I recommend it to all women of all age over 18!

I loved this book. It said exactly what I have been feeling for years, but wasn't quite sure how to put into words. It really helped me get through the junk I had been dealing with from past relationships and the struggles I was having because of that. I would recommend this book to any woman looking for advice on how to regain her femininity without losing her sexuality. A great resource and a must have for any bookshelf.

It has transformed me and given me a new perspective on future relationships with men. I also now have the courage to hold true to my convictions.

I am about half way through the book at this point. It's really good and has caused me to think about a lot of things differently in terms of sexuality. I would recommend that you read the LAST CHAPTER first before starting at chapter one. The last chapter talks about a man's perspective and it will really help you to go through the rest of the book remembering this information.

Haha, first off, I should mention that I'm a man. Yes, I read a book on women. I have read a few actually. This book definitely stood out from the pack. I really enjoyed it and felt like it gave unique insight into the opposite sex. But most importantly, I've been able to recommend the book to female friends and they always reply the same: they tell me how awesome the book is, how well it spoke to them, and thank me for pointing them towards it. So... I must say it's a winner!

This book is a must for all teen girls!! Or those who are experiencing shame due to sexual choices. It's an amazing new way to look at sexuality based on strong Christian principles. It uses real life examples and stories to illustrate the teachings. I couldn't put it down! This book doesn't judge....just works on moving forward. I found healing in this book!!!
