Sex time and radio is a must read for people who are in the radio business, or are thinking about geting in the business. Sex time and Radio depicts a raw experience to the radio business, reasons and the psych of people who love the business. It shows the good and bad about the business. The aurthor allows you to take a passenger ride with him while he shares his life with you. While using radio and music as a soundtrack to his life. He shows his love of music, and how it impacts our lifes.
He gives us alot of great knowledge of artist and black music from the 70s to the 90s era.
He explains how music has affected him in his life, and references it as a guide to how he does or did alot of things in his life.
It is so real, its funny. The way The way the author explains his fealings and how he delt with alot of stuff are hilarious. I couldnt put the book down, I starved for what was going to happen next, or what other knowledge I was going to learn. 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazed and quite interesting!, March 6, 2011

Of course with the title of this book I began reading it with a number of presumptions about what it would be about and whether or not I would even be interested enough to complete reading the entire book. I was quite surprised to find that I was totally wrong. We as readers are given the opportunity to learn a lot about radio, about this on-air personality, but also about music and the importance it has played in our history. I highly recommend this book to all!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read For Aspiring Radio Personalities, February 26, 2011
This review is from: Sex Time And Radio: The Raw Uncut Story of an On-Air Personality and the Decline of the Radio Industry (Paperback)
I couldn't wait to get this book when I first heard about it through a friend of mine who works in radio. Once I got the book and saw the page count I thought it would be a tough read but the chapters in the book are a breeze to read if you pick aside a few hours a day to read it. The interesting thing about the book for me was the story of how the author was able to connect song titles with different phases of his live. Overall this book shows the inner workings of corporate radio and the struggle that a young up and comer must go through if he or she wants to break into radio. I myself being a young jock myself can relate to the story of struggling to getting in the door. At times the book felt a little too long but the further I read it became clear that the long chapters were needed in order to make the whole story fit.
Impressed with his musical knowledge and just in all an interesting book to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sex Time and Radio: The Raw Uncut Story of an On-Air Personality and the Decline of the Radio Industry, January 18, 2011
This review is from: Sex Time And Radio: The Raw Uncut Story of an On-Air Personality and the Decline of the Radio Industry (Paperback)
Having worked within the radio industry on the sales management side, it left me with a limited perspective on many of the dynamics radio personalities face on a day to day basis. After all, I would typically engage them in appearances to either host an event or hype a retailer's location or products. Once I started reading S.T.A.R., I and I could not put it down. It's a true page turner leaving the reader thirsty for what is to be revealed next. It was downright entertaining, insightful, comedic, very revealing. I enjoyed this book and was impressed with the writer's historical knowledge as well. Great Read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and Informative, November 22, 2010

This review is from: Sex Time And Radio: The Raw Uncut Story of an On-Air Personality and the Decline of the Radio Industry (Paperback)
S.T.A.R is very informative book and a virtual must read for anyone considering entering the radio industry. Mr. Chapman tells of both the advantages and disadvantages of living as an on-air personality while also providing much insight into the continuing decline of radio. He entertains us with details of his sexual exploits while still educating us with his knowledge of music and tales of his struggles at various radio stations. Sex Time and Radio is a somewhat cautionary tale of what to expect in the radio industry and can almost be used as a reference book for those who strive to make in this industry. I felt the book was kind of long, but very addictive and very informative. Anyone who has listened to radio in the last 20 years, especially in Chicago, should check this book out. Having worked in the media field myself, I can understand many of the situations discussed in this book and I recommend you read for yourself.
