5.0 out of 5 stars "A Pleasant Surprise"
When I first saw this book I said, "Oh, no! Not another book about Gay Sex! Don't they think we know anything? Well, one look at that homoerotic cover and I couldn't wait to shell out the money and order it. And what a pleasant surprise this book is, it really has a lot to offer for the new gay guy just coming out or the guy with tons of experience like myself (so I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Offensive Sex Tips for ... Gay Guys
I'm guessing that the intent of this book was to be humurous and informative. Instead it ends up being offensive and useless. Unless you are a gay man that has lived in a cave for the last 20 years and likes to be referred to as a "poof", there is no need to buy this book. Dan Anderson's advice is both trivial and wrong. Does anyone need to be told to circulate (or as he calls it, "twirl") around a bar in order to meet people? And if I followed his advice to just up and leave a bar when it's time for me to leave, without telling my friends, I would be one friendless guy. Even the cover of the book is offensive, depicting every gay male sterotype that there is. You'd be much better off using the money for this book to go buy yourself a cocktail or 2 and see what happens.

1.0 out of 5 stars Irresponsible Advice, May 17, 2004

As a Registered Nurse, I was very concerned when I read this book. In fact, it made me so nauseated that I threw it in the trash.

The book subtly promotes drinking, social drug use, and multiple sex partners--talking about how much fun it is to go out and get plastered and go to work the next morning still intoxicated and how much fun it is to have random sexual encounters. The author does not address, however, how much fun it is to live with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Alcoholism, or any other complications that arise from living such an irresponsible lifestyle.

Folks, be yourselves. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you have to live/promote the stereotype that society holds of us. Be safe and have fun.

I do not recommend this book to anyone!

When I first saw this book I said, "Oh, no! Not another book about Gay Sex! Don't they think we know anything? Well, one look at that homoerotic cover and I couldn't wait to shell out the money and order it. And what a pleasant surprise this book is, it really has a lot to offer for the new gay guy just coming out or the guy with tons of experience like myself (so I thought till I read this book).

This is really a book loaded with tons of info about all aspects of gay sex and dating. There's a lot of good advice here. "Master" Anderson has written a very hilarious and funny book. Even if you think you know everything already, you'll learn something new from this book. Or you should just buy it for the humor, it will keep you in stitches. I couldn't stop laughing when I read about "Sex with a Drag Queen" and "Sex with a Bossy Bottom." There's a chapter for every possible sex partner you could think of.

I read this book in one setting. After the first couple of chapters, I just couldn't put it down. This is truly an entertaining journey through the nuts and bolts of gay sex. This is a welcome edition from the author who brought us "Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man." So next time you're in a bar give a "Twirl" and then head straight home with your new man for some "M&M's." You might even get a "Pearl Necklace" out of it. Read this book and you'll know what I mean!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars By twink for twink, July 2, 2010
This review is from: Sex Tips for Gay Guys (Paperback)
Let me start by saying that I didn't buy this book, but reserved it from the library and am still angry I wasted time reading it. I got the book thinking that I was going to get some ideas for the bedroom and instead got a book filled with information about how to hate any gay man who isn't a perfectly groomed bar fly that does whatever he can to get a hook-up at every visit to the local bar. If you're brand new to the gay scene and are looking for information about these things, by all means, get the book. I did not find this book helpful on any level.

3.0 out of 5 stars Steak Tips, August 31, 2008
I tried a sample of this book ergo reads like a one sided, seedless watermelon with en elementary aftertaste. Although ''Homoland'' was generously given to us in this book as a fictional guiding tool, there should be truths that lands like these exist. Ogunquit, ME, Unity, NH, Provinceton, MA, Providence, RH, are just a few to name.

I don't know what possessed me to buy this book. Don't waste your money. Not a lot of new information. I would get this at the library.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this book almost as much as I love 8===D, January 12, 2011
This review is from: Sex Tips for Gay Guys (Paperback)
Ever since I read this book, my love for delicious wieners has gone through the roof. It seems the only thing I can think of right now is Perez Hiltons girraffe's supple nipples. At times I can't control myself at work. I must go to the bathroom with this book and fap unmercifuly. i adopt small chimps from local zoo's and teach them funny things using peanut butter and banana peels. Like the one time I taught George Bush on what the term "Nafta" means. you like wendys? wen dese nutts are in yo face?

I enjoyed this book very much, I travel a great deal and therefore am very appreciative to good authors and only give five stars to those I believe tell a good story, have a great ending and have me wanting more. I don't always need all the sex or blood and gore, sometimes a romance, a love story or a drama is what I need. I highly recommend this book. And have recommended it to our book club in New York and Aspen,..I also recommend reading....The Boy He Loved - Obsession Into Darkness (Gay Suspense), Reflections In The Looking Glass - A Murder Mystery That Will Surprise you (Gay Murder Mystery), My Gay Socks (Gay Romance)and From Boys to Men (Gay Classic), you may also want to read,The Crane & Pelican (Gay Romance).

5.0 out of 5 stars Dan Anderson's "Direct Approach" Scores Big, August 7, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Sex Tips for Gay Guys (Hardcover)
Dan Anderson has masterfully captured the essence of the rituals of gay relationships. This is must reading for any gay man who wants to spruce up his love/sex life. Being recently divorced and not sure of my long forgotten dating skills, I decided to read his book for a few pointers. I also though I could use a few laughs this summer. I was not dissapointed on either front. After reading Dan's chapter on "The Direct Approach", I gave it a shot myself. While I am no Michael, I did manage to get three phone numbers and I got laid twice. With advise like this, Dan should have his own talk show!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kudos and Many Thanks Mr. Anderson!!!, October 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Sex Tips for Gay Guys (Hardcover)
Wow! What an amazing piece of work. The only preconceived notion that I had before cracking the cover was that this would probably be a very entertaining and hysterically funny read and hopefully I would be able to pick up a few sex tips. The book truly was entertaining and funny. I could identify with ALL the chapters and got so tickled recognizing some of my own historical experiences between the pages. However, I had no idea that it would change my life - but not for the reasons that the title might imply. There were plenty of sex tips...but the life altering experience came upon completing the book.

The chapter titled WHEN GUYS SCHIZ OUT was fantastic! If only I had gotten this book several months ago I would have saved myself from frustration and agony.

Because of your book I have a better definition and understanding of who Mr. Right is and more importantly a solid grasp of who all the Mr. Wrongs are. Many Thanks and Kudos to you Mr. Anderson!!!
