1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this book
Anyone with some sexual experience will find this book totally useless. I bought it out ouf curiousity and found nothing new and interesting in the book. In fact, I have bought a few books from the same author, primarily attracted by the title, and found none of it worthwhile.

Sex tricks is exactly as its author describes, a collection of spices to enhance and ignite an already good sex life. It goes beyond the basics , describing a multitude of easily learned and implemented "tricks" for all orientations and tastes. Beyond the tricks themselves are several essays regarding lubricants, safety in S/M , and what the best dressed night stands are wearing this year. Great for those techniques you really wanted to know about but haven't the sex expert to ask and couldn't get out for the blushing and stammering even if you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book for Creatively Spicing Up Your Love Life, December 9, 1999

This review is from: Sex Toy Tricks: More Than 125 Ways to Accessorize Good Sex (Paperback)
I'll have to admit that while I thought I had some clever ideas about foreplay and making love to my girlfriend, Jay Wiseman's "Sex Toy Tricks" gave both of us a whole new and enjoyable toychest to select from. Our favorite--so far--is No. 30, 'Pat the Doggie.' But Jay wasn't just writting a tittillation book. He also includes some good information about cleaning your sex toys, and also things to watch out for--like not laying lubricated toys on a varnished surface (No. 101). I wish I'd known about that one beforehand. We are now looking forward to reading his other books, "Tricks," "Tricks 2," and "Supermarket Tricks." And we hope he doesn't stop there. This is a MUST GET book for couples.

Jay has put together a nice sequence of books with his "Tricks" series. Sex Toy Tricks continues this tradition with tricks you can use with sex toys. Jay has done an excellent job of compiling a great list of tricks to try with sex toys. I wish I'd known about the "two vibrator trick (#12), for example before Hitachi discontinued their Magic Wand. <sigh> In fact, I wish I'd known sooner about most of the vibrator tricks mentioned in this book!

I always love finding out new ideas to try in my sex play and this book, like the others in the Tricks series has lots and lots of fun ones to try! Not only that, but some ideas are more simple practical advice about playing with toys.

Recommended for anyone who wants to get more out of their sex play.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first tricks book, February 19, 2001
This review is from: Sex Toy Tricks: More Than 125 Ways to Accessorize Good Sex (Paperback)
Jay Wiseman has provided 125 little "tricks" on how the get the most out of your vibrator, dildos, beads and plugs. Organized in the same fashion as his popular "Tricks" books, Sex Toy tricks contains much of the same introductory and supplemental materials.

Although I liked Wiseman's "Tricks" book, I did not find this book as useful. Many of the "tricks" are simple statements on safety and technique, more like a vibrator "how-to" rather than any special or unusual method of using some these devices. My partner and I have tried both books and this book did not elicit as many "oohs or aahs" as his other manual. If you are just beginning to experiment with sex toys, then this book will make a great introduction. If you are already experienced, you may only learn one or two new tricks.
