Over the years I have grown more and more disconnected from current music. Being that I was a musician and a huge music fan it's disappointing to not not to get that feeling when you hear a great new song for the first time. For me Sex on Fire is that great new song. It just struck me the first time I heard it. It's real rock and roll with a great hook. I love it.

With no qualms (it's kind of like a doubt or misgiving) about sharing how his girlfriend makes him feel in the bedroom, Kings of Leon makes it's big leap onto the indie/alternative/brit rock stage with this certainly interesting number. But while other mainstream artists might have taken this song as some controversial mess (you know who I'm talking about), Kings of Leon makes this more of an artsy tune than anything else.

The band themselves has a great classic rock feel to them, with the lead vocalists sounding like a throwback to the more unpolished rock gods of the 60s/70s/80s. The resulting sound that the band gives the song is almost a classic rock feel, complete with verses you can hardly understand, and a simple but impactful chorus.

So overall, props to the Kings of Leon for putting up a good effort that's a good throwback to Rock N' Roll's earlier days, while putting up a solid song for today. Granted, it may take a few listens to come around to liking it, but all hail Kings of Leon!

I am hooked on this song and just found a new song artist that I really enjoy their music. I have also bought Use Somebody and love the sound of this group.
