As a huge fan of Mary Morrison I can only say how sorely disappointed I was by this pathetic attempt at a novel. As a huge fan of Mary Morrison I can only say how sorely disappointed I was by this pathetic attempt at a novel. Although I am aware that Ms. Morrison is all about female empowerment and sexuality, I think this book took her "message" to a really low down level. While erotica is fine in novels, I thought this book lacked heart, soul and even a decent, coherent plot. A male boss raping his employee? That is absolutely sick and disgusting. Partner swapping, rape, sexual favors...and then we're supposed to believe that Nick and Natalia are soulmates? Gimme a break. I seriously question the author and the publisher who published this book. Sadly, I fear that publishers now believe black readers will read anything if you feature a sexually graphic cover. This book is the pits!

With the characters & their emotional ties, makes this book an interesting read. I enjoyed the way you educate us readings about our body, safe sex, what to look for & watch out for. This book is eye opening, because we hear about date rape drugs, reminding us to never forget what momma told us..."Safety, safety, safety". Thank you for the experience & knowledge.

4.0 out of 5 stars Spicy!, May 7, 2008
This review is from: Sexcapades (Hardcover)
Nick and Natalie are two ambitious professionals that are competing for the same CEO position in firm that they work for. They also share an explosive sexual relationship outside of the workplace. But Nick and Natalie are now having feelings for each other that go way beyond sex. Justin Flint, Nick and Natalie's boss, has the power to influence the board of directors on who would be best suited for the job. Justin is bisexual and is so attracted to Natalie and Nick that he comes up with some sinister ideas to get them to compete for this CEO position. But when Justin's painful childhood secret comes to light, it may destroy everything that he's worked so hard for.

Sexcapades is a wickedly erotic novel by Mary "Honey B" Morrison. Honey B masterfully penned a tale that shows just how far a person can go in order to further their career. All of the characters in this story are raw and complex, but the one that stands out the most is Natalie. Natalie is a woman that exudes confidence and sexiness. She knows what she wants and will not compromise herself in order to get what she needs. But you will also see that Natalie still wants a long-term relationshipâ¦just like Nick does. This novel would not be complete without some wild, over-the-top sex. Honey B even gives readers a few tips and tricks at the end of the book for them to use in their own repertoire. Sexcapades is a spicy and tantalizing novel that will leave you highly anticipating another book in this erotica series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erotica at It's Best, January 28, 2010
This review is from: Sexcapades (Paperback)

Sexcapades by Honey B/Mary Morrison

Let's just say this is not a book you want to be reading while riding on the subway or bus. Honey B starts off with steamy sessions from the jump. However, this is not just your regular explicit erotica. Sexcapades has a nice storyline as well. Sexcapades' characters all find themselves in a love triangle that could turn very deadly if they are not careful. This novel shows you what happens when children are robbed of their childhood and their innocence. Honey B has a little bit of everything going on in this novel but she brings it all together nicely. Her characters Natalie and Nick are best friends who get involved with another couple who are married in a swingers club. The plot thickens when both Natalie and Nick are offered a chance to develop a restaurant/club like no other. Instead of showing love their true colors begin to show and everyone around them gets involved. Flint who just happens to be their boss have other things on his mind though. He has been abused for so long that he becomes a part of the old adage Hurt people Hurt people. Wrestling with some sexually deviant behavior he is on a mission to get his before he is gotten. This was a steamy story of love, betrayal and lust at it's best. Get captivated by this steamy tale, but I'm warning you it's really hot be ready for anything to jump off. Five stars for Honey B and her Sexcapades.

Happy Reading,

3.0 out of 5 stars sexual taboo, April 25, 2008
This review is from: Sexcapades (Hardcover)
sexcpades has a great storyline however, the instructions and the overly descriptive sex acts were a bit much. don't get me wrong i love erotica and i'm an author of it and i'm even featured in Zane's "Succulent" Chocolate flava II so it get's no naughtier than that; but i didn't need a how to manual in a novel. I believe Mary should write a how to sex book because she has a lot of useful informaton to share.

Now back to the story devaughn was a opportunist, Natalie was although trying to appear strong really was weak to allow the men in her circle to treat her like a piece of meat. Devaughn and his wife also played roles that were out of the norm. I never met black folks like the ones in this book. who in their right mind would use their retirement money for a job they may/or may not get? No one i know. What man wouldn't kick the dog mess out of another man for raping him no matter if he was his boss or whomever. no one i know.

Justin was manipulator and a big child at the same time. All he did is whine along with the other men in this book about getting head. i don't know if men (maybe lil boys but not men) go around whinning like this all the time. although, i do know sex is defintely on their minds 24/7.

the story line was excellent and could've been more in your face but the sex scenes overpower the storyline which i felt had a lot to offer if explored more especially justin's.

mary is one of my favorite authors and will always be but the with the next honey B book can we get a some of the high end drama you normally bring to the storyline, still make it sexually charged minus the how to segments? Otherwise keep em coming Mary...ahem...i mean Honey B!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly Entertaining, April 5, 2008
This review is from: Sexcapades (Hardcover)
Wow, I am still calling people talking about this book. It is my belief that anyone who rates this book in a negative manner is closed-minded. There is very good advice for men and women, and the description of the sex scenes was so erotic. I applaud Mary B. Morrison for taking a stand and tackling several issues in this book some authors may not. I have referred this book to all of my friends--not just my reading buddies. Congratulations Mary, another hit on your hands!

4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD, March 6, 2008
This review is from: Sexcapades (Hardcover)
This book was good, I have read other books by this author, and this was just different. Althought it was different it still was good. Some of the sex scenes were crazy and there were momments where i was like what the hell. Don't be fooled by the title, though it does have a pretty interesting story line. I enjoyed this book and definitley would reccommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint of heart, April 23, 2009

It's a good thing Mary B. used a pseudonym - otherwise she may turn off many of her regular readers. I don't know how to feel about this book. I know it's erotica but I'm not sure I've ever read anything this detailed and explicit-which made it not very sexy in my opinion. Yet, I couldn't stop reading because I couldn't believe my eyes half the time. The plot and storyline was good, because Mary is an excellent writer, but the book had some dark themes that will turn some people off, and rightfully so. If you choose to read it, be prepared since it deals with child molestation & rape, sexual predators, date rape drug, rape, sodomy, swinging & wife swapping... all very graphically.

When I found out that Mary B. Morrison used a pseudonym, I was excited...Although this deviates greatly from the winning formula she had with previous books, I wasn't at all disappointed. True to the title, there was ALOT of sex....pretty good read!
