One of the funnest CDs ever made,

"Sexplosion!" still has that industrial element of machines and programming going on that TKK did so well on their other albums, but "Sexplosion!" does without the creepy, dark wannabe Satanic thing and goes the route of what would be an entertaining soundtrack to a 70's porn film were it not for the lyrics, which add their own touch of sleaziness. I own a decent portion of TKK's albums and this is one of the ones I enjoy the most, simply because Buzz and Groovie know what a fun album it's supposed to be instead of taking it too seriously. The sex-driven, sin-filled lyrics are creative, fun, and well-written for the music, especially the "bridge" near the end of "The International Sin Set" and the programming is outstanding, the drum machines churning out danceable, well-balanced beats with catchy bass lines. The sample sound effects are also catchy enough to stick in your brain for awhile, especially the slap bass in "Leathersex" and the saxophone sample in "The International Sin Set".My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult are not the greatest industrial band in the industry, but certainly are some of the more creative ones and diverse, especially with this release. If you're looking to dance, enjoy yourself, or sin to something heavy, entertaining, creative, and sleazy all at once, "Sexplosion!" is for you as it blends all those in a spectacular way. I've never heard anything similar to this since, including anything else by TKK, as this album is definitely one of a kind. Check it out for the more entertaining flip side of industrial as well as TKK's turning point from dark to just downright sinful. Also, don't burn the CD, purchase a copy, as the artwork inside is just as entertaining as the music on the disc. Standouts: "The International Sin Set", "Leathersex", "Dream Baby", "Sexplosion", and "Sex On Wheelz".

A KICK!,

I really get a kick out of listening to this album. It is an attempt to take advantage of shock-value, but the value just isn't there. However, if you listen with an open mind you find yourself really enjoying the silliness and such of the music. I can listen to this album over and over again for an energy boost.

perhaps their best.,

well. the thrill kill kult may not be the best band out there but they certainly have carved a niche out for themselves. instead of the sadist techno dance music that their previous albums had, i found a much more mature and well-defined style behind the thrill kill kult's klosed doors. instead of sounding like a group of angst-ridden teenage satan-worshipper wannabes like the albums before it, the tkk have taken on a more sleazy, rather than devilish look and it filters through in their music. i've heard just about every tkk album and in my opinion, this is one of the better ones beause it has a consistent tone and sets a mood. for what i don't know. maybe a good flogging or a red-light romp with a martini in one hand and a video camera in the other. the tkk at their best. recommended.

This is an album I've loved since it came out. I had to buy the CD because I had worn out my cassette tape. I love this music.

While some reviewers here havent been kind to TKKs other works I have to agree that this departure from there angry evil sound (which I LOVE) is a refreshing change of pace. It almost comes across as a concept album. Buzz, Grovie and the bomb gang girls show off a more playfull side here and one cant help but think of old seventies exploytation films when listining to it. It's perfect for sitting around with a group of friends and enjoying your favorite cocktail and a good cigar (or however your crowd gets mellow). The track A Martini built for 2 has a great sleezy vegas lounge feel and would probabley have put a smile on Sinatras face. At the other end of the spectrum Sex on Wheelz is a little harder (but no where near their other fare) and can be heard on the Cool World sound track. If you like TKKs harder stuff don't come into this album looking for that or you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a fun album check this out. All in all a great album from a diverse band.

It is a classic, and sex on wheelz is no expection. It's definatly a huge attempt at instrument mastery and experimentation. Great vocals and lyrics-campy, yet fun. It's just fun to listen to, and non serious. It makes you smirk like a little teenage boy.
