The Ancients were clear thinkers.,

This review is from: Sextus Empiricus: Against the Professors (Loeb Classical Library No. 382) (Hardcover)
I had recently come across a quote from Sextus Empiricus in my reading. Then I realized that I had heard that quote throughout my childhood, that the Mills of Justice grind exceedingly slow, but they grind very fine, or words close to that---my childhood was a long time ago. I have started to read this original work, and wish I could read the Greek. The ancients are refreshing, and thorough in their thinking. What they write is meant to be useful, not a game to confuse or win points. But to build up the mind, establish links to the Universal mind. It's worth the effort, to try to understand, and ponder on the meaning behind the words.

Word games from antiquity remind us that in philosophy there is nothing entirely new under the sun. Maybe on other planets in other solar systems.
