Book Description

August 1, 2005
Love them or hate them, those ubiquitous high-tech inventions, from cell phones to the Internet, have radically changed the way people communicate in business, in life, and in love. But Regina Lynn doesn't fear technology; she passionately and lovingly embraces it. The Sexual Revolution 2.0 is her personal road map for navigating the new sex/tech revolution.

Offering an accessible, practical guide to the 21st-century mating dance, Lynn examines how technology has reinvented people's day-to-day romantic lives. With honesty and humor, she helps readers better understand the new world of e-personals, cybersex, online infidelity, and on-demand porn. Nothing is too private for Lynn to address, whether it's admitting how her own online encounters helped her overcome real-life inhibitions, or chronicling her experiences with Internet-powered sex toys.

Review

"If you own a computer, surf the web, or like sex, you should definitely read this book." -- Jamye Waxman, Playgirl

About the Author

Regina Lynn writes the popular "Sex Drive" column for Wired.com. She won the Western Publication Association's 2005 Maggie Award for Best Online Column, and she has been featured in The New York Times, NPR New Zealand, "Digital Village" on Radio Pacifica, and "Midnight Sex Talk" on Resonance 104.4 FM in London. Still, nothing delights her more than getting a column listed on FARK.com. Regina lives in Los Angeles with her dog, Jedi, and her fish, Squishy and Nigel. When not handcuffed to her computer, she can be found carving the canyons on her motorcycle or hanging out at the beach with inline skates and a boogie board. Her birthday is in May but she accepts presents year round.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sane approach to sex online, October 3, 2006
This review is from: The Sexual Revolution 2.0: Getting Connected, Upgrading Your Sex Life, and Finding True Love -- or at Least a Dinner Date -- in the Internet Age (Paperback)
Regina Lynn does what so few manage to do: explain the basics about online sexuality without throwing her readers into a panic. Lynn provides a landscape of some of the ways that the Internet can *enhance* one's sexuality and sex life while most other books instill fear about this phenomenon in the average person. Sure, people become addicted to cybersex; people also become addicted to Twinkies. But most people are able to eat their Hostess products in moderation. And most people who choose to engage in online sexual activities -- or at least explore their options -- will do so to improve an in-person relationship, or use it to explore an aspect of their sexual identity they want to "try on" in a safer environment. Lynn writes with the notion that most people are simply curious about sex and the Internet as she paves the way for people to learn how the virtual world can improve their romances ans sex lives in the physical one. And she educates with compassion, humor, and savvy.
