This is easily the most frustrating textbook I have ever owned. It is poorly organized, and is mostly used as a platform for Eskridge to espouse just how intelligent he believes he is.

The editing is terrible. Most of the case excerpts chosen don't even have cohesive fact patterns. The chapters are also extremely redundant. The same argument will be made 8 different times within a chapter (especially if it's Eskridge's argument). But then, in the most maddening of ways, the authors will cite heavily to a case that they don't even give you an excerpt for, but rather a one sentence blurb, and then expect you to follow along with their fact-based arguments about said case when you haven't even been given a cohesive fact pattern.

This book is 1162 pages long. It could be half the length if Eskridge would get off of his soapbox and stop making redundant arguments, or stop putting in arguments merely so Eskridge's counterargument can be utilized.

I really have to wonder if any thought aside from the expanding of Eskridge's ego went into the making of this textbook. If it weren't so expensive, I would burn it as soon as I was done with the class.

Good book for my course in the University of Arizona. You learn about cases that has helped structured today's laws. In addition, helpful for case briefs in school.

This book was a great casebook.

Clearly written, good examples and explanations.

I highly recommend it to anyone in law school.
