5.0 out of 5 stars Need to convince your woman? Buy this.
The gentlest introduction to femdom. The introduction even addresses the woman whose husband/lover took a huge risk to give her the book. Gives a fair treatment of the emotional issues facing the woman whose socialization is to be nice, pleasant, and receiving. Excellent discussion of processing emotions afterward. Good for the hopeful sub and for the domina with...

2.0 out of 5 stars No need to buy
I read this book in about 20 minutes while sitting at the B&N. It's content is average at best. The way it is laid out the author seems to be lighting up the topic. That maybe be fine in some instances, but I dont think it works for the topic of dominance. Id recommend Claudia Varrin's Art of Sensual female dominance as a much better choice. That book is more in depth...

5.0 out of 5 stars A gentle introduction to the womanly art of domination, January 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners (Paperback)
The Sexually Dominant Woman is custom made for the first time fledgling Fem dom. Written as much for the woman interested in exploring her dominant side as for her submissive partner, it addresses such fundamentals of successful domination as negotiation, safety, setting the mood, ethics, and more in an easily understood , non judgmental manner. From warm up to cool down, (and all the delicious parts in-between), Lady Green makes a comforting and informative guide. It even includes a a sample scene and tips for modifying it to suit an individual couples needs. Slightly more advanced players might do better with "S/M 101" or "Screw the roses, send me the thorns", but for the woman who is just beginning her journey it is a perfect introduction into feminine domination.

5.0 out of 5 stars Friendly and Fab, June 30, 2000

It was a rainy Friday in October when my wife unwrapped the gift on the table. I had just left our house to visit the "Whisky Brothers" for a wet night of Scotch, cards and cigars...I had my cell phone with me and I kept waiting for the call to return home, it never came...When I returned home Saturday morning, I went straight to bed and she didn't say a word about the book. Saturday night we went to bed, and she still didn't mention the book with one single word, the suspense was killing me...Sunday morning I woke up tied to the bed, it had begun...WOW this book is really GREAT. Thank You Lady Green...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good introductory work, February 8, 2001
This review is from: The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners (Paperback)
This book is a good introduction to female dominance, but if you have much experience, you will probably not find it too useful. It goes through some of the emotional/mental issues that a woman might face in starting out in this sort of scene/lifestyle. It does address the mental issues and reservations that some women might have with beginning to find their dominant nature. The book goes on to lay out a very basic scene to get you started as well, in great detail. I found this book to be very short, well-written, and easy to read, but it made me want to read more. I found the Mistress Manual by Lorelei to be a little more detailed in helping me decide what sorts of scenes interest me, so I would recommend that book in addition to this. This book has an excellent focus on safety and safe sex.

5.0 out of 5 stars a MUST for the novice, curious, or experienced "Mistress", December 24, 1998

This review is from: The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners (Paperback)
This book is honest, open, sincere, and maintains a sense of humor throughout- just like the participant should be in their approach. The book dispells some of the taboos without losing one bit of the sense of fun, play and empowerment that s/m play and loving can have. It is so nice to see the key elements for safe, sane, and consensual fun are identified and de-mystified. A great starting point for any one curious or inquisitive about this aspect of sexual and loving experiences. Also a super help for those shy men with difficulty on how to bring up the subject for their partners.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well-organized and sensible book. It's about time., December 7, 1998
By A Customer
The book is well organized and very articulate about women taking charge sexually. The physical and emotional safety tips are sensible and make the reader realize their importance. Many different types of play are discussed with clear examples given. The sample scene is easy to follow - cookbook enough to feel comfortable with but not dull. Good list of resources at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Introduction to Female Dominance, January 17, 2002
This review is from: The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners (Paperback)
This book is for beginners, it says so in the title. As a book for beginners it is wonderful! I recommend it to anyone who is trying to interest their wife to bdsm. Very non-threatening explinations of bdsm. Lets her know your not a perverted child molester just becouse you might like a spanking. It explains why you might like this, and gives her several reasons why she would like this as well. Even includes a very basic beginning scene script to start you out with.
I do recommend if she reads this book, and likes it that you expand by getting another how-to book. This one is less a how-to book, and more a why-do explination.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Beginners Guide for the Sexually Curious, December 12, 2000
By

This review is from: The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners (Paperback)
This was a wonderful book for the curious beginner. It was written in a very clear and open style, defining terms as it went along. The author was careful to explain drawbacks as well as benefits of different types of dominant/submissive play, and gave many safety tips as she went along. Many suggestions for further reading were also given. The book is best for the beginner to BDSM, and works well for both dominant and submissive as a reference. For more experienced players, the safety reminders would be most useful.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Starting Point For A Timid Beginner, January 7, 2002
By
Heather (Wisconsin, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Sexually Dominant Woman: A Workbook for Nervous Beginners (Paperback)
I purchased this book because, while I have been in a D/S relationship for several years, I have never played the dominate role. My husband has recently decided to try out his submissive side. I was TERRIFIED!!! I wanted to try it, but felt utterly clueless of where to start despite the fact that I have played the role of submissive for over several years with him.

This book, while very short, did give me a starting point and helped me build enough confidence for our first scence with me playing to dominate role. (If you'd like to know, it went very well ~*big smile*~)

I recommend this book for those curious, but have not tried it before, who feel timid, nervous and even clueless as to where to start.

I also recommend that for those subbies out there who purchase this book for their "to be Mistress" to read it before you give it to her, but skip Chapter 11. It offers beginners advice and tips for both Mistress and sub.

Thanks so much Lady Green!!!

That maybe be fine in some instances, but I dont think it works for the topic of dominance. Id recommend Claudia Varrin's Art of Sensual female dominance as a much better choice. That book is more in depth & does more to explore the psychology of the feelings behind being a dominant female - Which I found helpful in calming my nerves about my new feelings towards D/s.
