The rapid changes in the STD arena are defined here by the leading figures in the field. Foremost among the new material is the superlative coverage of HIV and AIDS. You'll find diagnosis and management guidelines, HIV in reproductive health and pediatrics, establishing prevention programs. HIV in developing countries and more. All other STDs are reviewed in depth, and the winning organization reviews diseases by underlying pathogen (bacteria, fungi, protozoa, etc). Also, fully updated coverage of medical, legal and social issues is supplied to give the specialist or primary care physician broad based coverage beyond diagnosis and management concerns.

4.0 out of 5 stars Class Review by Kenenth Speight, March 20, 2011
This review is from: Sexually Transmitted Diseases (Hardcover)
Sexually transmitted diseases are taking over the future of our kids. It is important that we as a community rally together to inform our future the reality of being sexually active, and its side effects. Often times our concern is to warn them about teenage pregnancy, rather than the life threatening risks they are taking. We need to instill in our youth that when they are sexually active they are really playing a game of rushing roulette, and only the wise will survive. As parents we need to face the reality that our children are learning things at an earlier age and we must maintain a relationship with them so that they will not be a statistic. It is time for some of us to stop being their friends and be their parents. In order to help save our children's future we must be a part of their presence. We must take a stand for our children and teach them to stand for what they believe in. Granted things happen and mistakes are made but for every second chance they get they must understand that their luck will soon run out. Although, they may not get a STD, (but really what are their odds) they may still get something that could change their lives forever!
