This review is from: Sexually Unusual: A Guide to Understanding and Helping (Paperback)
Too many therapists who have little knowledge of the behaviors in question nonetheless attempt to treat individuals who engage in sexually unusual behavior. This book is both a primer and a warning. It shows therapists how their eyes must be open and non-judgemental if they are to be of any help at all. In my private practice, I often lend this book to clients to derive the benefit of its understanding as we mutually explore the behaviors in question. Sargent's chapter is an absolute gem.
