Many trends in the last decade in Americans' attitudes with regards to sexual behavior are highlighted in this film. Most of the screen time is given to an articulate young woman named Winnifred. She's really the film's voice although the other women, Laura and Nichole, provide reinforcement on issues like surgery and employment in the sex industry which Winnifred is not old enough to face. Overall I liked the film and recommend it as a way to open a dialogue.

More films need to be made on the ever changing sexual landscape and the effects it is having on all of us. This film is a good start but is a little behind the times, a little timid, and a lot incomplete. The most important for me is the last: for example, the pressures on boys is just as significant (but in different ways) as it is for girls and someone should tell that story. When I say timid I mean that there are really only allusions to specific sexual practices in the film. As an example, anal sex has become a prerequisite in heterosexual porn in the last decade or so. How did this happen and what does it mean about the expectations of people who are just beginning to have sex? As for being a little behind the times I mean that it is not only sexting, Facebook, etc. in which young (and older) Americans are engaging, but also a tremendous amount of user-created porn. Just google web cam girls, for instance, and it should quickly become apparent from the sheer number of participants that "old-school" activities like stripping have been transformed into entirely new contexts.

The over sexualization of our society was on my mind for a long time. I do have children and I have been concerned of the danger of what I call the "Trash Culture" of cheap thrills and naked body parts... This film put it in perspective for me even more.

This excellent documentary provides an essential wake-up call vis a vis the effects of our sexually saturated media, internet, entertainment industry and advertising, especially on young women. The filmmakers skillfully draw us in by focusing on the lives of three disparate women. This is definitely not a "talking heads" movie and avoids taking a specific stand. Rather, it forces its audience to grapple with significant issues and questions. An especially important film for parents, it will have a profound impact on anyone who sees it.

This film introduces some challenging ideas about current sexuality but seems unclear about what to do after that. The film follows the arcs of three women: an ex-porn star that decides to have a baby, a woman interested in labia reconstruction surgery, and a precocious teenager from New York. These may seem like interesting threads, but the film never addresses the obvious themes it purports to investigate. These include how a baby changes a woman's body (especially important for a woman whose job is based on her body), the psychological implications of needing labia surgery, or why we should care about a smart young jewish girl in New York with rich parents. Don't waste your time on this documentary.

I tend to review products I like. I loved this documentary and have recommended it to others. It is well made and covers the sexualization of our culture from three different perspectives. While there is a point of view to the video, the filmmaker does a nice job of letting both sides be represented in the course of the movie. It is really good on the impact of young teens.

I found this to be well written and well shot, this documentary solicits reflection whether your man or woman, parent, single or teenage.

This is a film that every parent should watch! This film can be a little difficult to watch and there were times that I wanted to yell at the TV because of the things that the 12 year old girl would do and what her parents allowed her to get away with. I'm planning to use this film as discussion tool with my daughter's mom so we can talk about the influences and pressures that are presented in today's society so she won't grow up to be concerned about sex and being sexy like the girls in the film.
