A range of BDSM with lots of love, January 24, 2012
This review is from: Sexy Beast VII (Paperback)
Series:
Chanku Challenge (Sexy Beast, 7; Chanku, 16)
Three tales of love and beasts in this anthology.
The Stories
Kate Douglas' Chanku Challenge continues the serialization of what I consider Douglas' Chanku series which combines her Wolf Tales and Sexy Beast stories. In this particular tale, Beth's memories of her stepfather's abuse are reawakened with some nasty results. It takes the Pack working together to help Beth fullly awaken her memories and begin to put them behind her, including getting the man who abused her and murdered her mother.
What I like about Douglas' stories--besides the interesting sex with all its various permutations--is the love and caring that surrounds each member of the Pack. The sex Douglas writes of is simply a vehicle for providing the love and support.
Anitra Lynn McLeod's Eye of the Beholder is a cute spin off the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale with Larra of Rellmon being sold off by her sister to the nightmare of the land, Dauer, a man about whom tales of his cruel and wicked behavior have spread far and wide with the number of wives who have died due to him almost as high. Although, why she figures on drinking brandy with dinner is the thing to do...
Shelli Stevens' His to Reclaim was a good, strong story about a pair of jaguar shifters, but a bit too dominating for me. Five years ago, Gemma gave it all up to Hunter believing him when he said they would be forever. It's her wedding day and Hunter has a lot of nerve showing up to claim her now!
The Cover
It's an eggplant colored background with a hot, warm-skinned, hottie with muscles and long black hair gracing this cover with what appears to be a brown sheet covering the absolute essentials.
The title is fairly generic but does give a good idea of where it fits within the chronology of this series of short stories about shapeshifters.

Great Authors!, November 1, 2011
I purchased this book only for the continuing Chantu Saga by Kate Douglas. I love this author and this series. The characters are real as are the story lines. I will read anything she writes and highly recommend these books as a part of the Chantu Saga. The other authors and stories are good also.
