1.0 out of 5 stars I really wanted this to be good..., March 18, 2010

This review is from: Sexy Librarian (Paperback)
This book came recommended based on other books I had purchased and rated. As someone in the same profession, I thought this would be something new and cutting edge compared to how most people view librarians. I was sorely disappointed. While the somewhat risqué content did not shock me, it did strike a nerve with how badly it was written. There was really no build up, no background, no character development, and the main character is completely self-absorbed and just not likeable. I will keep looking for something fresh and exciting about librarians.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Don't "Get" It, September 8, 2010

This review is from: Sexy Librarian (Paperback)
I have seen reviews for this book that either people love it or hate it. Maybe that is due to the style of writing and some angle the author was trying to work that I do not understand. This book is just bad. I am not shocked at how many rejection letters appear in the front from publishing companies not wanting to publish this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Modern Romance is a Thrill for the Heart and Mind, July 18, 2010
By
3D Bear (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sexy Librarian (Paperback)
This book is so much more than a single story. It is a meta-fiction about a certain form of popular literature with some very interesting, and very distinguishing differences... It is written by a contemporary artist, and from what I've come to understand, the novel itself was just another chapter in what is otherwise a rather epic adventure in sculpture, rejection, modern romance, library deaccession, information science, among other themes.

On top of all that the read is good! The book is very entertaining, and a real thrill, as it takes the reader beyond the romance or "chick lit" genre.

One of my favorite parts: the rejection letters that are from the publishing houses who declined to publish Sexy Librarian. They are included! Oh the romance, the heartbreak, its brilliant.
