4.0 out of 5 stars
Brilliant song but 2 track CDs are lacking, March 21, 2008
This review is from: Sexy No No No Pt.1 (Audio CD)
"Sexy! No, No, No..." was the 16th single for Girls Aloud. It was also their comeback in 2007 and in my personal opinion, one of the best singles they have ever released. It was also the first single by a British act to debut in the top 10 (let alone top 5) on download alone, coming in at #5.
This is CD1 of the 2CD set released in the UK. It only has 2 tracks as according to the rules. This is why it only receives 4 stars as opposed to 5.
Rundown:
01. Sexy! No, No, No...
Quirky title equals quirky song. This is GA's most creative single to date, even more so then "Biology." With one of the most amazing openings of any GA song ever, this is such a winner. Cheryl is just fabulous on the spoken opener. The song is about nothing in particular, but the chorus is extremely catchy. All the girls get some vocals, but Nadine and Cheryl sing the most. Brilliant track, and one of my all time fave GA singles. (5/5)
02. Something Kinda Ooooh [Live in Bournemouth]
This live song is from the girls' Greatest Hits tour in 2007. "Something Kinda Ooooh" was the tour's opening song and had a fantastic opening. This track is completely live and shows off the girls' voices. It's a good addition to the single but the single's b-side should have been on this CD. (4/5)
Overall, two good quality songs but the fact the CD only has 2 songs loses it a star. 4 stars.
