Maxine Segal Handelman is the Consultant for Early Childhood Education for the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Max is a BABSMAMA with degrees in lots of stuff from many institutions of higher learning. Max is the author of teacher's manuals, children's book (hopefully soon to be books), articles and Visions. Max is a professional storyteller, and leads Tot Shabbat services for young families at Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago, where she lives with her husband Jacob and their two young daughters.

We love this book and its message that peace in our home takes effort and builds on itself! One particular Shabbat when things were particularly hectic and when I had little patience with my 3 children (ages 2,5 and 7), my 5 year old son asked to read this book (we had read it once before). As I read the book to them, we talked about which angel had visited our house that week (clearly Rah, the bad angel) and how happy we are when Tov, the good angel, visits. We finished by singing together and feeling so peaceful it was hard to remember the bad feelings from earlier in the evening. Thank you Max and Joani for bringing peace into our home.
