Everyone should buy this CD and the new one, Red Revolution! These guys are the most genuine caring guys in the world, and they really mean what they sing. Their music has an awesome sound and message. They are so in touch with their fans it totally blows my mind!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get it while you still can., July 21, 2003

This review is from: Shaded Red (Audio CD)
This is one incredible cd. As well as "Red Revolution," also by Shaded Red. Though it seems that that particular album isn't available on Amazon.com. Funny, I thought they had everything. Anyway, the two Shaded Red CDs have found a home in all of my music players. I've been listening to this band for about five years, and the songs NEVER get old. There are maybe one or two songs on each album that I don't find enthralling, but that's about it.

After five years, I still sing along with as much enthusiasm as day one. The vocals by the Roberts brothers are nothing short of amazing, especially on the second album. Searing, introspective, soothing, they've got it all... on top of guitar work that exudes the essence of rock and roll. There is tasteful usage of non-conventional instruments such as brass instruments and orchestral pieces scattered throughout.

The lyrics and songs are very simple on the first album, but wholly effective. They've matured a lot on "Red Revolution," especially in their song writing capabilities, and it shows. It is easily one of my favorite albums of all time.

If you see either of these albums: Shaded Red & Red Revolution, buy on sight! You won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars YES! rEaL rOcK that doesn't fade., March 14, 2003
This review is from: Shaded Red (Audio CD)
This album provides real modern rock that doesn't fade. This is one of the few albums I've listened to that doesn't get old after a couple years, and that's not because I'm a diehard Shaded Red fan. Their sound delivers like few others--What can I say--I like these guys. If you can get ahold of a copy, you won't be disappointed. If you are, contact me and I'll buy it from you. What more of a guarantee do you need?<P...

5.0 out of 5 stars Artistic Gold, October 1, 2001
This review is from: Shaded Red (Audio CD)
I pray that this band gets this CD back in print and their next one. I bought this one through a inventory music club 4 years ago and I fell in love with it. The lyrics are from the heart and the music rocks. I am in my mid thirties but I feel like the teenage boy who cried out to the Lord in anquish and found his cry answered by love. I only had the opportunity to listen to some downloads of Red Revolution and I would like a copy. This is a band to look all over for.

Shaded Red is the most original and revolutionary band in christian music. Their style parallels no other. I found their debut self titled album to be amazing. It absolutely rocks one moment and in the next delivers a heartfelt message that speaks to the soul. These guys Rock!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great band. Can't wait for next album!, August 23, 1998
By
This review is from: Shaded Red (Audio CD)
I listened to a demo of this CD last fall (1997) and I knew right away that I had to buy it. Some have compared them to Jars of Clay but Shaded Red seems much heavier to me (but not SO heavy that it turns me off). The lead vocalist seems to sing with all his heart. There is a great balance of guitars with vocals and drums and a nice variety of styles throughout the album so as not to get repetitive. Sadly, their drummer was killed in an auto accident in January of 1998. Apparently he had just joined the band for their tour and he did not play on this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars An immediate hook for those christians who like rock, December 27, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Shaded Red (Audio CD)
As a 15 year Christian with an early 70's rock background, I highly recommend Shaded Red. Even in mid-life crisis I can rejoice in this rough-edged contrast rock. It is a great cruisin'-and-singing-on-the-backroads collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE BAND!!!, October 3, 1998

Danina (Philadelphia, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Shaded Red (Audio CD)
I heard SHaded Red at the Christian rock efestival Creation '98, and started crying at their unbelievably beautiful "Found Someone". I promptly bought the CD adn it is one of my two favorite ablums(the other one being The Scarlet Pimpernel: Broadway Cast Recording,do I detect a red theme going through my musical preferences?) and these guys are just AWESOME. Their music is ebeautiful, fun, kind of like Jars of Clay and PFR mixed together. And as to the lyrics, WONDERFUL. Uplifting, inspirin g and challenging. This album gives you the sense of people who are truly offering their unbelievable talents to God to be used for His glory.
