Review

Hallie DiBarto was a spoiled, selfish socialite who was ruining her marriage. Then she died. By some strange miracle, Hallie is allowed to come back but there's a catch-- she comes back in someone else's body. Instead of waking up in a hospital in California, Hallie ends up in the body of Marti May West in a small town in Florida. She's short and brunette instead of tall and blonde now. And she's married to Jesse West, a mechanic and race car driver with aspirations. Worst of all, she's pregnant! Hallie is thankful that she has a second chance at life, but she's not sure how long she can put up with living in a small town with a bunch of hicks. Jesse is being patient with his new wife because she was viciously attacked and almost killed. But when she comes up with this strange story of being someone else in Marti's body, he doesn't know what to think. The old Marti trapped him into marriage by getting pregnant, but the new Marti doesn't seem to want to stay in Chataloo or have a baby. All she talks about is going back to California. Jesse begins to think that maybe her story is true-- maybe this isn't Marti. Even though he wasn't ready for a family, Jesse is committed to raising the child Marti is carrying, so he has to convince her to stay in Chataloo until the baby is born. Reluctantly, Hallie takes Jesse up on his offer and promises to stay in Chataloo until the baby is born. But Marti's attacker is still on the loose and seems determined to finish what he started. And Hallie is discovering that even though cowboys aren't her type, there's something very attractive about Jesse West-- something that makes her think about love. But she's already wrecked one marriage and Jesse has his own dreams to follow. It would be silly to think of staying in Chataloo and raising the baby with Jesse. Or would it? Hallie discovers that second chances at life and love are often heaven sent.Magical! Tina Wainscott pens a marvelous tale that will capture your imagination! As entertaining as On the Way to Heaven! For readers who wondered what happened to Hallie DiBarto, this story will answer all your questions! Once again, Tina Wainscott takes us to heaven and back! What a delightful journey! Contemporary romance with a fascinating twist! Romantic and charming!Kristina Wright -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!!, February 12, 1999

This review is from: Shades of Heaven (Mass Market Paperback)
The very good thing about this book now is that people who are just buying it to read can also buy the first one, On the Way to Heaven, and then read them back to back. That's good, because when you finish On the Way to Heaven, you have enjoyed it so much you don't want it to end. I know I didn't. I'm not saying it left you up in the air, because it didn't. This author is just so good, you want more. I think we book addicts are a greedy lot. Take my word. Read both of these.
