'I was hooked on this book from the first page. Hot, steamy, shocking, many WTF moments and oh have I mentioned the hot and sexy Alexandre! Holy smokes he is off the charts in soooo many ways!'
--The Book Enthusiast

'This was a great book, Pearl was such a great character that she won me over from the start. The sex scenes were just how I like them, hot heavy and very sensual when the time was right, I loved the fairytale aspect to this book, the great hero, the female lead who had traits she did not like about herself, the evil family member, I would highly recommend this to all who love a great love story with Sex, that would be most of us then, 5/5'
-Confessions of a Bookaholic

Loved, loved, loved the book. Better than 50 shades of Grey. How could you not want a Frenchman after reading the book.....

I loved Forty Shades of Pearl. I really identified with the characters. It managed to capture the passion and essence of the intensity of first love, although the main character, Pearl, is a forty year-old divorceee and her protagonist, Alexandre is twenty-five. The relationship is charged, intense and all-consuming - we are not sure if it because of the physical attraction they have for each other or a deeper, more spiritual connection. Either way, we are hooked by the story-line and premise. If Arianne Richmonde writes book two I would read it to find out more about this interesting pair. This unlikely match makes for compulsive reading. Pearl Robinson is my kind of heroine - deliciously attractive and smart - strong yet vulnerable.

Not that Forty Shades of Pearl should be compared to Fifty Shades of Grey as it is an entirely different story, but I will make a comparison anyway, simply because it is also an adult romance so the two books do have that in common. Although I enjoyed a couple of the sex scenes in FSoG I put the book down the second the BDSM thing started to overtake the novel. For me, that was so NOT a turn-on, it really put me off. Also, I simply didn't find it interesting. I think women out there must be under the impression that we guys want to spank and whip them, when in reality (I speak for myself and men I know) - nothing could be further from the truth. That's why I loved Forty Shades of Pearl. Yes, there is power play (Alexandre Chevalier is sexually dominant in his way) but the thread of it is more subtle. There is more intrigue.

The book is also very well written both on an emotional level and in its descriptions. It makes you feel you are there, too, which is the point of a really great read. I also enjoyed the dialogue. This novel has it all.

Amazing book. I just can't get enough. Going on my third time of reading it! I really love how it connects with real women not just a fantasy woman. I also loved that love and passion can happen at any age, you don't have to be 21 years old! Also, there are amazing women out there of all ages.Fantastic book! A MUST read!!

I was slightly dubious when I first decided to read this book. Having read the "fifty" trilogy, I wasn't sure that any book could hold my attention as much as reading about Christian. How wrong could I be. Forty Shades of Pearl has been written to an exceptional standard, it captivates it's audience from the first page and keeps you entertained until the very end.

The characters are so well described, allowing images to run wild in your head. The story makes you laugh, scream and cry and leaves you wanting more.

I can't wait for the next book to come out!!

I was given this by the author for an honest review

Summary: Documentary producer, Pearl Robinson, is a beautiful and smart forty year-old divorcee but has not had a date for over two years. When she hears about Alexandre Chevalier, a young French, Internet success story, she assumes he is a nerd. But when she bumps into him face to face she's stunned by his charm, beauty and sophistication, and startled by her strong feelings and desire for a man fifteen years her junior. His looks, wealth and worldwide triumph with his social media site, HookedUp, means he can get any woman he chooses, but there is something about Pearl he finds irresistible...
The couple begins a passionate affair and Pearl's body is awakened in ways she never imagined possible. She is consumed by him and his magical touch. But secrets, jealous family members and other external forces are threatening to pull them apart.
Erotic, humorous, and profoundly tender, Forty Shades of Pearl is a story that will stir your heart, rouse your emotions and touch your soul.

The Review
Ok, this was a great book, Pearl was such a great character, We all have traits about ourselves that we hate, but poor Pearl had so many more to cope with, that she won me over from the start. Alexandre was so perfect, loaded, gorgeous, body to die for and a god in the sack, what more could a girl ask for? OK maybe not a psychotic sister, but that just added to the story,The sex scenes were just how I like them, hot heavy and very sensual when the time was right, I loved the fairytale aspect to this book, the great hero, the female lead who had traits she did not like about herself, the evil family member, I would highly recommend this to all who love a great love story with Sex, that would be most of us then, 5/5

This story enraptured me within the first 15 pages and thats no lie. I now have become an avid reader after reading 50 Shades and it truly takes alot for me to truly fall in love with a story and become obsessed and this one does it. There will be times you will love Pearl and times you want to throttle her but in the end you want her to find her Prince Charming and she truly does or does she?? Alexandre is sexy, sophisticated, accomplished, young and a Sex God but can he truly fall in love with a woman who has experienced more years on this planet then he has. Who in the end is the Teacher and who is the "awakened" student?? I truly relate to Pearl's insecurities as a woman trying to define herself in this society which is always glorifying the perfect, young and fit. Yes, the love scenes were hot but did make me laugh at times because it was outrageous but thats the fun part. No matter what you get out of this story it will leave you breathless and wanting more. A great emotional ride. You will not be dissappointed!!
