This book starts off with a mother, Rose, giving birth to a daughter, Sophie. She has no help and tells her other daughter, Maddy (10), to help. Maddy is reading how to give birth from a book. After the birth, Rose dies. Meanwhile, the Father dies in battle. An unknown, very severe aunt shows up to raise the girls. 10 years later, Maddy is in Jamaica with her little sister, Sophie and their life begins...There is so much more to this book but I don't want to give it away. It's such a great read. |
